- The M8A1 marksman rifle is the best weapon to use in the Black Ops 7 Beta.
- The Dravec 45 and the Peacekeeper MK1 round out the top three.
- Thanks to its bolt-action fire rate, the VS Recon is the best sniper in the beta.
The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Beta is live, featuring an arsenal of 16 weapons, which include returning favorites and some brand-new guns. As always, it hasn’t taken long for a meta to take shape, so you’re bound to find a majority of players running the same loadouts. This is for good reason too, as some guns are clearly superior when it comes to firepower and TTK. With this in mind, we’ve put together the best weapons in the Black Ops 7 Beta and all their meta attachments in this guide.
1. M8A1 – Best Gun in the Black Ops 7 Beta

- Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
- Muzzle: VAS 5.56 Suppressor
- Barrel: 21” Frontline Barrel
- Underbarrel: Envoy Foregrip
- Fire Mods: Buffer Spring
Based on our time in the Black Ops 7 Beta so far, the M8A1 is hands-down the best weapon in the game. The marksman rifle’s four-round bursts hit like a truck, capable of flooring enemies with direct headshots up to 30 meters. Even if you cannot hit the sweet spot, two body shots almost always do the trick, which really sums up how reliable the weapon is. When fitted with the meta attachments, it’s also extremely stable while firing.
Mid to long-range engagements with the marksman rifle feel like a breeze, although CBQ is definitely uncomfortable. While putting together a class for this weapon, be sure to check out the best Perks in our BO7 M8A1 loadout guide.
2. Dravec 45 – Best SMG in the Black Ops 7 Beta

- Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
- Muzzle: Hawker Stabilizer MK. II
- Barrel: 18” Jetstream Barrel
- Rear Grip: QuikArm Grip
- Fire Mods: Acclerated Recoil System
Rapid rate of fire, best-in-class range, and excellent stability – all the traits needed for a top-tier SMG. This is precisely what Black Ops 7’s Dravec 45 offers in spades, so it’s no surprise that it enjoys an exceptionally high pick rate. Every second player you run into is more than likely to carry the Dravec, and frankly, you should too.
While its fire rate may be the lowest in its class, it still feels quick enough for all sorts of combat scenarios. Where the SMG truly shines is at mid-range combat, where its advanced accuracy will give you the edge over most other weapons. It’s not flawless, of course, since it can’t match up to the Ryden 45K in CQB, but that’s a shortcoming worth overlooking.
3. Peacekeeper MK1 – Best AR in the Black Ops 7 Beta

- Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
- Muzzle: K&S Brake-2B
- Barrel: 21” DF-3 Merge Barrel
- Underbarrel: EAM Steady-90 Grip
- Magazine: Vulcan Reach Extension
- Rear Grip: Kinetic-Mk1 Grip
- Stock: Swift-B Guard Stock
- Fire Mods: Buffer Spring
The Peacekeeper, last seen in Black Ops 4, is back with a vengeance in the BO7 Beta. It boasts an exceptional fire rate, paired with best-in-class mobility and handling, instantly making it one of the fastest-killing guns in the game. With that said, your first few sessions using the weapon are likely to be uncomfortable since it runs out of bullets way too quickly while also having strong vertical recoil.
These issues can easily be addressed by equipping the attachment mentioned above, but you will have to level up the gun quite a bit. Nevertheless, the grind is certainly worth it because the Peacekeeper MK1 is the best assault rifle in the beta.
4. VS Recon – Best Sniper in the Black Ops 7 Beta

- Muzzle: VS-762 Brake
- Barrel: 17” RistRauch Nimbus Barrel
- Stock Pad: Stabil Heavy Pad
- Underbarrel: Breacher Handguard
- Magazine: Wyvern Extended Magazine
- Rear Grip: R-1 Shelf Grip
- Laser: 1MW Instinct Laser
- Fire Mods: Light Bolt
Speaking of returning weapons, BO2’s DSR 50 is back, and it’s now called the VS Recon. It’s one of two snipers in the beta, and since the other one feels clunkier and fires in bursts, the Recon is undoubtedly the best in its class. The weapon itself is your standard bolt-action rifle with moderate recoil, which can one-shot enemies with hits to the upper body across all ranges.
It’s also surprisingly good at CQB, provided you can adjust your aim quickly enough. Make sure to pair it with the meta attachments to lower the ADS times.
5. MXR-17

- Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
- Muzzle: Redwell 7.62 Brake
- Barrel: 18” Rift-M7 Barrel
- Underbarrel: Sentry Pro Handle
- Magazine: Vault Extended Mag
- Rear Grip: Aria Assail Grip
- Stock: Gait-Lux Stock
- Fire Mods: Recoil Sync Unit
Black Ops 7’s MXR-17 might not be the full meta, but it’s certainly a mid-range beast. It comes with excellent accuracy and range, offset by its more modest mobility and rate of fire. Its recoil can take some getting used to, but once you’ve got it nailed down, the AR is extremely effective at medium-range engagements. The slow fire rate also means it’s more forgiving than the meta Peacekeeper.
And that wraps up our picks for the best weapons in the Black Ops 7 Beta. Do you agree with our list? Let us know in the comments.
