Lawmen: Bass Reeves is easily one of the best true story adaptation shows on Paramount Plus. This show revolves around the true story of Bass Reeves who was born into slavery in the town of Arkansas. He was forced by his owner to fight in the American Civil War for the Confederate Army and later on, as the tale goes, over a game of cards, he beat his owner to a pulp and ran away to his freedom. As he grew up, he became the first black man to wear the badge of a US Marshall West of Mississippi and carried out hundreds of arrests through a successful career.

2. Knuckles

Knuckles is a series made in continuation of Sonic The Hedgehog 2. This series follows Knuckles who after saving the planet once is looking for a new purpose. He joins hands with Wade Whipple and takes it upon himself to train Wade in the ways of an Echidna warrior so that Wade can compete in the Tournament of Champions bowling event in Reno, Nevada.

However, a new villain emerges who wishes to capture Knuckles and use Knuckles’ powers for his own profit. This series contains six episodes and serves as a bridge between Sonic 2 and the upcoming Sonic 3.

3. Yellowjackets

If you are a fan of survival, thriller, and psychological dramas, Yellowjacket is a series that will give you a taste of all three of these genres. This series takes place in the year 1996 when a girl’s soccer team became the victim of a plane crash. The surviving girls find themselves stranded deep in the wilderness and have to do whatever it takes to survive.

However, the girls were trapped for almost 19 months, and in the course of that time, some dark and unimaginable things have happened which come back 25 years later to haunt the surviving girls and disrupt the lives they have made for themselves.

4. Halo

Bringing one of the most successful games to life, Halo aired on Paramount Plus in 2022. This series takes place in the year 2552 and centers around John-117 AKA Masterchief, a genetically engineered super-soldier created by the UNSC (United Nations Space Command). He is a leading figure in humanity’s fight against a faction of alien species known as the Covenant.

The series shows us that after Masterchief and his squad defeat an elite covenant scouting party on the planet Madrigal, they discover a relic that can change the course of the human-covenant war that has been waging for years and it seems as if Masterchief is the key to all of this. The series is a visual extravaganza and is probably one of the most expensive shows created by Paramount with a budget of over $90 million.

5. Colin From Accounts

If you are a fan of heartwarming romantic comedies, Colin From Accounts is a show that you should not miss out on. This show brings us the story of medical student Ashley and microbrewer Gordon who move in together with each other after they accidentally injure a pooch dog and will have to take care of it.

This series is the perfect blend of comedy, romance, and drama, and if you think I’m overhyping the show, Colin From Accounts has scored a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes has an 8.1 IMDb rating. So if you’re looking for something to watch, give this one a shot.

6. Tulsa King

Tulsa King brings in Sylvester Stallone in the role of  Dwight “The General” Manfred who used to be a mafia boss in New York. However, after he was released from a 25-year prison sentence he found that he had no influence left and was exiled by his boss to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Once there, Dwight Slowly starts building a crew of his own and the whole show revolves around him employing people and using them to rebuild his criminal empire. This series does have a rather dark tone but it also has its rather comical moments which makes this series a must-watch for you.

7. The Offer

I’m petty sure that almost all of us, if not watched, have heard about a movie named ” The Godfather” This movie is often considered to be the greatest movie of all time and it did not just earn this title but was a fruit of the efforts made by producer Albert S. Ruddy to make the Godfather dream come to life. This movie gives you the whole tale of what went into making this movie and how much controversy and hardships the creators went through to create The Godfather. In my opinion, if you are a fan of that franchise, this show is something you should not miss out on.

8. SEAL Team

Seal Team revolves around an elite unit of Navy Seasls who carry out dangerous missions whenever they are asked to. However, even though they are always ready whenever duty calls them, this life of theirs takes a toll on their lives and families. This series revolves around them carrying out missions that seem impossible but also pay the price for this in their personal lives.

Seal Team is not just another military drama but has a unique note to it. Over 70 percent of the crew working on this show are veterans with former Navy SEALs Mark Semos and Kenny Sheard taking charge of the writer’s room.

9. Dexter

Dexter is a show that might not be for everyone’s taste since it includes a lot of gore. This series revolves around Dexter Morgan who developed psychotic tendencies after watching his mother being brutally murdered in front of him. His adoptive father Miami police officer Harry Morgan recognized this and fearing he would turn out to be a criminal taught him to hunt to divert Dexter’s violent tendencies instilling in him the fact that he should never kill something or someone who does not deserve it.

Dexter grows up to become a blood splatter analyst at Miami Metro Police but while he spends his day solving crimes, he spends his nights committing them by brutally murdering people who have done heinous crimes and have escaped justice by law. This series is quite long but will keep you hooked till the very end.

10. Evil

Evil revolves around a clinical psychologist named Kristen Bouchard who does not believe in the concept of God and Demons. However, she is soon approached by a priest in training named David Acosta. He wants her to help him with investigating supernatural events, especially demonic possessions to know if it is a possession or if the person has a mental disorder.

The plot of this series might not sound very out of the box but if you are someone who enjoys paranormal investigation, this series will turn out to be an absolute treat.
