Deck Strategy

The key strategy of the Mega Pidgeot EX Solo Deck involves setting up your Mega Pidgeot EX with adequate energy, using Mantyke. You will start the round with a Mantyke as the active Pokemon and Pidgey as the benched. You can draw only the two basic Pokemon using May, Professor’s Research, and Poke Ball.

For your next round, the goal should be getting a Pidgeotto or a Rare Candy. If you have a Mega Pidgeot and a Rare Candy in your hand, then you can evolve it in one go. Or else you’ll have to draw cards and hope to get both of them. We have added a non-EX Pidgeot to counter Pompom Oricorio decks, if you encounter one.

Lillie and Irida can be used for healing, and Lima can be used to withdraw a damaged Pokemon. Cyrus is the last piece to this puzzle that will allow you to swap your opponent’s damaged Pokemon into an active spot, deal the final blow, and secure a winning point.

Deck Strategy

The strategy for the Mega Pidgeot EX and Pompom Oricorio Deck is very similar to our previous deck. The only notable difference is that we have added two copies of Pompom Oricorio and removed non-EX Pidgeot and Lima.

Pompom Oricorio can counter any EX Pokemon with its Safeguard Ability, which prevents EX from dealing damage to it.

Mega Pidgeot EX and Suicune EX Deck

  • Mega Pidgeot EX and Suicune EX Deck
  • Mega Pidgeot EX and Suicune EX Deck

Required Cards

  • 2 Mega Pidgeot EX
  • 2 Mantyke
  • 2 Pidgey
  • 1 Pidgeotto
  • 1 Pidgeot
  • 2 Suicune EX
  • 2 Poke Ball
  • 2 Professor’s Research
  • 2 Rare Candy
  • 1 Cyrus
  • 1 May
  • 2 Lillie

Deck Strategy

Mega Pidgeot EX Suicune EX deck is arguably the best possible deck around this card. This deck has enough card-drawing options while fulfilling the energy requirements of Mega Pidgeot EX. Mantyke can provide energy to your Mega Pidgeot EX or Suicune EX during turn 1. You can use a Giant Cape to protect your Mantyke or Pidgey, so that they don’t get sniped.

Suicune is one of the best cards in the game. Its’ Legendary Pulse’ ability allows you to draw a card at the end of each turn. You can even use its attack to snipe down opponents’ benched Pokemon. You can use Rare Candies to evolve Pidgey into Mega Pidgeot EX, only when you have both the cards in your hand. You can also use a Pidgeotto if your hand doesn’t have a Rare Candy.

Lastly, the non-EX Pidgeot can be used to one-hit-KO opponent’s Pompom Oricorio. Poke Ball, May and Professor’s Research can be used for drawing cards. You can use two copies of Lillie if you are facing difficulties in managing your Pokemon’s HP. Cyrus allows you to swap your opponent’s damaged Pokemon into an active spot, deal the final blow, and secure a winning point.

Mega Pidgeot EX Deck Counters

Mega Pidgeot EX is weak against Lightning-type Pokemon and Decks built around them. Here are some of the notable decks that you should look out for:

These were the Lightning Decks that are currently in the meta, and can be a threat to the deck. You can still manage to win against them if you set up your cards before your opponent can. Other than these, make sure to look out for the best Pokemon TCG Pocket decks as they can pose some serious threats when strategically used by opponents.
