We all would agree that Marvel has not had the best of days in a while, but so far in 2026, everything we have recieved make it look like Marvel is all set to step back in the game. However, the ace up their sleeve is the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. While the movie is already the most hyped release of 2026, the hype went through the roof when Marvel released several teasers, some of them featuring Chris Evans, AKA Captain America, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, confirming their appearances in Avengers: Doomsday. So, now the question is, who else is a part of the cast? Here, find out about all the actors appearing in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday.
All Confirmed Avengers Doomsday Cast Members
Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom

I believe that one of the biggest reveals from Marvel was the revelation of Robert Downey Jr. coming back to the MCU as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. This revelation took Marvel fans by storm, and while most people are hyped to see him as one of the most powerful villains in Marvel, some fans are not really convinced by this casting. They believe this will ruin the memory of Tony Stark.
As of now, we have not received a full look at RDJ as Doctor Doom, but we did get a look at Doctor Doom interacting with Franklin Richards in the post-credit scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps. Other than that, Marvel is keeping Doctor Doom’s official look under tight wraps. There have been certain posts on X claimed to reveal the official look, but nothing has yet been revealed officially by Marvel.
Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards

Fantastic Four has seen many adaptations, with the lead character of Reed Richards being played by different actors. However, this time around, the Fantastic Four are being made a part of the MCU timeline, and Pedro Pascal has taken up the mantle of Reed Richards in the 2025 version of The Fantastic Four.
During the SDCC 2024, Kevin Feige confirmed that The Fantastic Four will make an appearance in Avengers 5, which makes sense as well, since Doctor Doom has been the arch-nemesis of this family for a very long time in the comic books. Moreover, after the events of Fantastic Four: First Steps and the appearance of Ben Grimm in the Wakanda teaser of Avengers: Doomsday, their apperance in the movie is further solidified.
Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm

Since it has been confirmed that the lead cast of the Fantastic Four will be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, it goes without saying that Vanessa Kirby will also appear in the cast as Sue Storm, or The Invisible Woman.
However, it has now been confirmed that she is going to be in the movie with an X post made on the official account of the Avengers. Previously, Jessica Alba and Kate Mara appeared in the roles in the 2005 adaptation of the franchise and the 2015 version of it, respectively.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Benjamin Grimm

Ebon Miss-Bachrach will appear in the role of Benjamin Grimm, also known as The Thing. He is essentially the muscle of the Fantastic Four and has already made an appearance in the Wakanda teaser of Avengers: Doomsday. Previously, the role of Grimm was played by Jamie Bell in the 2015 adaptation of The Fantastic Four, and even before him, the first appearance of Ben Grimm was in 2005, played by Michael Chiklis.
Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm

Arguably, Johnny Storm, or the Human Torch, is the most popular member of the Fantastic Four. Before Joseph Quinn was cast as the character, Johnny Storm was played by Chris Evans in the original Fantastic Four movie, and he also reprised his role as the Human Torch for a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine, once again reigniting the fanbase of the character.
Now, Joseph Quinn has taken up the mantle and won the hearts of every Marvel fan; it would be exciting to see what he has to offer in the upcoming Avengers movie.
Chris Hemsworth as Thor

After Thor: Love and Thunder, it was uncertain if Chris Hemsworth would ever come back in the role of the Norse God, but Deadpool and Wolverine gave us a hint that he is not done with the role yet. In the movie, there is a scene where Deadpool sees a screen where Thor is crying over Deadpool, who is seemingly dying.
To this, Mister Paradox says that this happens in the distant future, and Deadpool was not supposed to see it. This gave us fans enough hope that he will be returning to the role.
However, a confirmation came our way with a teaser featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, where he was seen asking Odin for strength to protect the ones he holds dear. While there were not a lot of revelations in the clip, it did confirm Chris Hemsworth’s involvement in the projec and it’s more than enough to keep the fandom hyped up.
Anthony Mackie as Captain America

After Falcon and The Winter Soldier, we all knew that at some point, Sam Wilson would end up becoming Captain America. Now, in 2025, Captain America: Brave New World has officially made him Captain America, and if the world is being threatened by a threat like Doctor Doom, how can Cap just stand aside and let it happen? So, Anthony Mackie’s confirmation to appear in Avengers: Doomsday was pretty much inevitable.
Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man

One of the few Avengers who is still around is Scott Lang, or Ant-Man. The last time we see his exploits is in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he and his entire family took a stand against Kang the Conqueror and won. However, even though the movie did not do well, it gave us an idea of how big a threat Kang could have turned out to be.
Now that the villain is out of the MCU, everything we saw in Ant-Man Quantumania has become kind of irrelevant. However, since he is one of the few Avengers still around, even before the official confirmation, it was pretty much confirmed that he will show up in the upcoming Marvel movie when the new team of heroes takes a stand against Doctor Doom.
Channing Tatum as Gambit

Initially, with Deadpool and Wolverine, we had no clue what happened to Gambit after the duo successfully escaped from The Void. However, later on, after days of the movie being in the theaters, a clip was released showing us that Gambit was rescued from The Void by the TVA. So, the current theory is that he has been sent back to his original timeline.
However, now Channing Tatum is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday and recently spoke to ET, where he revealed that the characters and appearances we will get to see in the movie will be 50 times crazier than Deadpool and Wolverine. In his comment, he said-
“It’s gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears, like in the way that I knew when Blade walks on screen in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’… it’s that times like 50.”
Other than this, the actor was pretty tight-lipped regarding the movie, so we will have to wait and see what he means by this when the movie hits theaters.
James Marsden as Cyclops

With the cast of Avengers: Doomsday revealed, it’s confirmed that James Marsden will finally return as Cyclops. His return was highly anticipated in Deadpool and Wolverine, but to our disappointment, he was nowhere to be seen. James has always been open with his willingness to take up the role of the much-beloved X-Man, and Kevin Feige seems to have finally made the call James has been waiting for all along.
Being fully aware of the hype surrounding his character, Marvel gave us an Avengers: Doomsday X-Men teaser featuring Cyclops, and it goes unsaid that the fanbase lost its mind seeing James back, and that too in his comic-accurate suit.
Rebecca Romijn as Mystique

Since the very first X-Men movie came out, Rebecca Romijn appeared in the role of Mystique in the original run of the franchise. Later on, the character was recast with Jennifer Lawrence taking up the role. However, with Avengers Doomsday, the original X-Men are returning, and so is Rebecca Romijn. It has been a while since she has taken up the role of Mystique, so it’s going to be quite a treat for the X-Men franchise.
Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler

Same as James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn, in the original 2000s X-Men movies, Alan Cumming took up the role of Nightcrawler before being recast in the rebooted version of the franchise. Now, with Avengers: Doomsday, he is also set to reprise his role as the teleporting mutant.
It has also come to light that Alan Cumming’s will have a scene where Nightcrawler will be fighting Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards in Avengers: Doomsday, and now we will have to wait to see what circumstances will lead to this standoff.
Ian McKellen as Magneto

Before Michael Fassbender took up and owned the character of Magneto, Sir Ian McKellen appeared as the morally grey Mutant who turned on his long-time friend Charles Xavier after an ideological clash. It has been a while since Sir Ian McKellen appeared as one of the most powerful mutants, and even though his return was anticipated in Deadpool and Wolverine, it never happened. So, with Avengers: Doomsday, we will finally get to see him play Magneto once more.
Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X

Patrick Stewart appeared as Professor Charles Xavier in the original X-Men movies and continued to do so for quite some time. However, after the X-Men franchise was rebooted, he took a long break from the character. Following this, he then reappeared in Logan (2017) and then once again appeared as Professor Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness (2022), only to be brutally killed by Wanda.
Most of us thought that this would be his final appearance as Professor X, but now, since the reveal of Avengers: Doomsday’s cast has been made, and he appeared in a teaser, it’s confirmed that Patrick Stewart will be returning as Charles Xavier/Professor X.
Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast

Just like the previously mentioned X-Men characters, Kelsey Grammer was also one of the first people to bring the beloved comic book franchise to life by taking up the role of Dr. Hank McCoy/ Beast. He has been absent from the screen in the role since the original X-Men movies concluded, but then made a cameo appearance in The Marvels (2023) and is now set to reprise his role as Beast in Avengers: Doomsday.
Lewis Pullman as Sentry

Lewis Pullman is a new addition to the MCU and will be making his debut in the studio with Thunderbolts. He is set to appear as Sentry, an insanely powerful anti-hero with a split personality disorder.
If you have watched the trailer of Thunderbolts, you must have an idea of how powerful Sentry is, and now he is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, given his split personality, it’s hard to say whether he will be a good guy or a bad one. So, let’s wait and see what happens.
David Harbour as Red Guardian

David Harbour made his MCU debut in Black Widow (2021) as the Red Guardian, a Soviet supersoldier created through the reverse-engineering of the Super Soldier Serum given to Captain America. Since his appearance in Black Widow, David has been absent from the screen and is now set to return in Thunderbolts.
By the looks of it, it seems as if the events we will see in the upcoming movie will somehow line up with Avengers: Doomsday. So, let’s wait till the release of Thunderbolts to get an idea of what awaits us in the future.
Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / White Wolf

Sebastian Stan appeared in the MCU for the first time in Captain America: The First Avenger, and after his apparent death in the movie, stayed off-screen for a while. However, he returned withCaptain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and went through a complete redemption arc with Captain America movies, and was renamed as the White Wolf by the Wakandans. Most recently, he cameoed in Captain America: Brave New World and now, is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova

After the death of Black Widow, her shoes are being filled by her sister, Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh. She made her debut in the MCU with Black Widow (2021) and then reappeared in Thunderbolts. Initially, it was unclear if her character would have further appearances after the release of Thunderbolts, but now, since she is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, it looks like Yelena is here to stay.
Wyatt Russell as John Walker

John Walker took up Captain America’s shield after Sam Wilson initially refused to take up the mantle of Captain America. Played by Wyatt Russell, John Walker initially tried his best to be Captain America, but snapped and killed someone in broad daylight using the shield.
Following this, his title of Captain America was taken away, only for him to be hired by Valentina and renamed the US Agent. Now, John is a part of the Thunderbolts and will also be a part of Avengers: Doomsday.
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

If casting were done right for a character, it would be Tom Hiddleston as Loki. He made his first appearance in the MCU with The Avengers in 2012, and gradually became one of the most beloved characters in the MCU.
However, the love fans have for the Norse God of Mischief went through the roof after the Loki series, which completely redefined the character and turned him into one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
After the conclusion of Loki Season 2, it was unclear if Loki would be returning to our screens anytime soon, but now, it is confirmed that Loki will be returning in Avengers: Doomsday, which might just be the biggest announcement in a while from Marvel Studios.
Winston Duke as M’Baku

Winston Duke has been a secondary character since his debut in Black Panther (2018) and has reappeared across multiple projects in the MCU. He has been absent from the screen since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but looking at the teaser for Doomsday, it is confirmed that he is set to return in the upcoming Avengers movie.
Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon

Danny Ramirez had been working alongside Sam Wilson for quite some time, and most recently, he has been promoted to be the new Falcon after Sam Wilson took up the mantle of Captain America. Moreover, by the end of the movie, Sam Wilson offered Danny to join the Avengers, so it was pretty obvious that he would be a part of Avengers Doomsday, but now, it has been officially confirmed.
Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther

After the death of Black Panther, his mantle was taken up by his sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, who appeared as the hero in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Fans speculated that we would get to see her next in the Young Avengers movie, but as it turns out, she is set to reprise her role as Shuri/Black Panther in Avengers: Doomsday.
Simu Liu as Shaun/Shang-Chi

Simu Liu made his debut in the MCU with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and owned the role of the character. The movie was a massive success, and as of now, a second movie of Shang Chi is in the works.
However, Shang Chi 2 will be released sometime in 2027 or 2028 since Simu Liu is set to return in Avengers: Doomsday as Shang-Chi, and his feature film will be released after both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are released. As of now, there are no confirmed details, and these are just speculations, so we will let you know as soon as there is any further update.
Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor

Tenoch Huerta made his MCU debut as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2021) and gave us an ecstatic performance. However, since then, he has not been seen in any other Marvel project. Now, with the cast of Avengers: Doomsday confirmed and an apperance in the Wakanda teaser of Avengers: Doomsday, he is finally making a comeback to the screen as Namor.
Chris Evans as Captain America

One of the biggest reveals with the Avengers Doomsday teasers was the confirmation of Chris Evans returning to Avengers: Doomsday. Previously, there were rumors that he would appear as Captain Hydra, an evil variant of Captain America, but those rumors are now debunked, considering the teaser shows us that Steve Rogers is now a father.
He still has his uniform as something of a souvenir. As of now, the circumstances under which he would put his uniform back on are unknown to us, so we will have to wait for the full-length trailer to be released.
Sadie Sink as Unknown Character

It was confirmed a while ago that Sadie Sink will be appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, in a more recent update, it has come to light that after the events of the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Sadie Sink will appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars in the same role.
This report was first brought to us by Deadline, where they reported that they are eager to know about Sadie’s role in Brand New Day, and even though they have no idea about it, they can confirm that she will be a part of the next Avengers movies.
All Rumored Avengers Doomsday Cast Members
Tom Holland as Spider-Man

After the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, the biggest question people had was whether Tom Holland would be a part of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday or not. Now, according to a reliable scooper, DanielRPK, he will be in the movie since it is set to release after Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but since his name was nowhere to be seen in the announcement of the official cast of Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man’s appearance is still in the dark.
Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch talked about his reappearance among the cast of Avengers 5 recently, even though he was tight-lipped regarding further details of the project. This topic came to light when he engaged in a conversation about Doctor Strange 3. He said he would appear in one other project before the release of Doctor Strange 3, and fans speculated that this project could be Avengers 5.
Other than that, Benedict had a conversation with a Japanese media outlet, TV Groove, where he expressed his excitement to work with the Russo Brothers again and talked about Robert Downey Jr. appearing as Doctor Doom.
There is a chance that he could be talking about Doctor Strange 3, but since his appearance was not confirmed with Marvel’s announcement, Doctor Strange’s presence in Avengers: Doomsday is still a rumor.
Harrison Ford as The Red Hulk

Even though the star of Captain America: Brave New World is Sam’s new Captain America, the biggest highlight of the movie was the first-ever live-action adaptation of the Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford. Now that this character has been introduced, there is a high probability that he might show up in Avengers: Doomsday.
It only makes sense because it is confirmed that Captain America will be in Avengers 5, and even though Red Hulk was a threat in Captain America: Brave New World, it could be similar to how Hulk was in the first Avengers movie, and might later turn into a hero.
Chris Pratt as Peter Quill

Peter Quill, or Star-Lord, is one of the most loved characters in the entire MCU and also the most hated character when Avengers: Infinity War was released (IYKYK). After delivering an insane performance in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, for a second, we all thought that Chris Pratt had finally put his blasters down for good.
However, just before the end credits rolled, we were told that “Star-Lord will return”. There is a very strong chance that Peter Quill and his Guardians of the Galaxy will show up in Avengers: Doomsday since Doctor Doom is not just a threat to Earth but beyond it as well, so it only makes sense for them to make an appearance in the movie.
Kathryn Newton as Cassandra Lang/Ant-Girl

Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassandra Lang, or Cassey, also has a suit like her dad and her mom. She was seen using these powers for the first time in Ant-Man Quantumania. However, she was mentioned by Kamala Khan by the end of The Marvels when she went to recruit Kate Bishop for the new team of Avengers. So, it’s pretty probable that we can see her alongside these two young heroes taking a stand against Doctor Doom.
Dominique Thorne as Ironheart

Dominique Thorne debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Riri Williams, a young girl inspired by Tony Stark. She built herself a suit of armor similar to Tony’s, calling herself Ironheart.
Even though her debut was not received well by the audience, a new series, “Ironheart,” revolving around her came out on June 24, 2025, and had rather mixed reactions from fans. So, let’s wait and see if she will return in Avengers: Doomsday or not.
Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel

After appearing in her standalone series, Ms. Marvel and then in The Marvels, Ms. Marvel, or Kamala Khan, was seen recruiting Kate Bishop, Hawkeye’s apprentice, as the first member of the Young Avengers. This was a subtle tease toward a future Young Avengers project.
Even though the project is rather far away, this could mean that Nick Fury has these two young heroes as a backup plan, making it probable for Kamala Khan to make an appearance in Avengers Doomsday.
Recently, it also came to light that a season 2 for Ms. Marvel is in talks, so it is possible that before Avengers 5 is released, it might set up her appearance in the upcoming movie.
Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop

Now, as I mentioned above, Kamala Khan recruited Kate Bishop for the Young Avengers, so it also sets up Kate Bishop to appear in the movie. We all know that Clint Barton retired from being Hawkeye, and now, the mantle has been passed on to Kate Bishop, which makes it even more possible for her to make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

After Deadpool and Wolverine, Hugh Jackman has returned to play Wolverine. There have been multiple rumors regarding him being one of the major roles in Avengers: Doomsday, but nothing has been confirmed yet. People assume that a new actor will be cast, probably Henry Cavill, to portray the 616 version of Wolverine, but that seems too far-fetched.
What makes Hugh Jackman’s appearance in Avengers Doomsday even more probable is that he is now on the radar of the TVA, and as we know, Doctor Doom is not just a threat to Earth but also to the multiverse; the TVA might end up calling upon him for help in taking him down. So let’s wait and see what happens.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool

Another character with a strong probability of making a comeback on screen is Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds. In Deadpool and Wolverine, we saw that he wanted to join the Avengers in the Earth 616 timeline but was rejected by Happy Hogan with the statement, “We will keep an eye on you”. After what Deadpool and Wolverine pulled off to save the multiverse, they may get a recommendation via the TVA to the Avengers showing up in the movie.
So, these are all Avengers Doomday cast members, including those who have not been officially revealed, but there are rumors that we might see them in the movie.
As of now, there is no official trailer for Avengers Doomsday, but there have been several teasers for the upcoming movie featuring Thor, Captain America, Ben Grimm, and Shuri.
Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., will be the villain of Avengers: Doomsday.
Yes, Chris Evans will return as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday, as confirmed by one of the teasers.
