The Asus ZenFone 5z will finally go on sale at midnight tonight on Flipkart, and it’s expected to compete with the highly successful OnePlus 6 thanks to the similar specs, camera and notched display, but at a much lower price.
The phone is priced at Rs 29,999 onwards with the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version as the base option. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at RS. 32,999 and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at Rs 36,999.
The Asus ZenFone 5z features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080. The screen boasts of a brightness of up to 550nits with the Super IPS+ display. It also features the notch like the OnePlus 6. The internal storage is further expandable thanks to a hybrid dual-SIM slot, that supports microSD cards up to 2TB. The device will also be available in two color variants, namely, “Meteor silver”, and “Midnight blue”.
As for the camera, the ZenFone 5z features a dual rear camera setup with AI. The primary rear camera makes use of the flagship Sony IMX363 12MP dual-pixel image sensor with F1.8 aperture and 1.4µm large pixel size. The secondary rear camera is an 8MP 120° wide-angle camera. On the front, you get an 8MP with F2.0 aperture and a 1.12µm pixel size. The main rear camera can record videos up to 4K at 60 fps with a 3-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS).

The question remains whether OnePlus 6 will feel the heat from Asus’s latest flagship. It surely sounds impressive on paper and we loved many of its features when we checked it out at the India launch.
