99 Nights in the Forest just got its new weekly update, and it introduces us to the new Tool Trader NPC. The tool upgrade system has also been refined in this update. Instead of the old upgrade building, the Tool Trader will help you with your upgrades while also selling the necessary tools. Where to Find the Tool Trader in 99 Nights in the Forest
The Tool Trader NPC can be found right away from Day 1, after you’ve started 99 Nights in the Forest. His workshop is located very close to the campfire, nearest to any biome that spawns. You can easily spot him on your map.
Once you’ve found the Tool Trader, you can simply interact with him to open his shop. He currently sells two items: Fishing Rod and Taming Flute. Both of them cost 20 Mossy Coins each and can be purchased only once. You can get mossy coin stacks on buildings, structures, and scattered throughout the forest. You can even kill some cultists to get more mossy coins. Before you start farming mossy coins, make sure to equip some of the best 99 Nights in the Forest class.
You can also find the Taming Flute from the Domestication Cabin, near your camp, or by owning the Zookeeper Class. Fishing rod is also very easily accessible, and you can get one from the Fishing Cabin behind the camp. When trying to update the tools, make sure to use 99 Nights in the Forest codes to get some free rewards.
How to Upgrade Tools in 99 Nights in the Forest
The Tool Trader NPC also allows you to upgrade tools, besides selling them. Currently, you can only upgrade tools he sells: the Fishing Rod and Taming Flute. To upgrade any of the tools, follow the steps below:
- Equip the tool you want to upgrade (Fishing Rod or Taming Flute)
- Interact with the Workshop next to the Tool Trader NPC.
- You must have a certain amount of XP to upgrade. You can farm XP by using the tools to fish and tame animals.
- Once you have enough XP, you can upgrade your tool.
Previously, the Upgrade Station was the go-to place for players to upgrade their Fishing Rod and Taming Flute. However, with the new update, the Upgrade Station has been removed from the game and replaced with the Tool Trader NPC.
