How to Get Zekrom in Pokemon GO

If you’re planning to hunt Zekrom in Pokemon GO, then participating in 5-star raids will be your best bet. During specific Pokemon GO events, you can find Zekrom raids or even take part in Raid Hours from 6-7 PM local time. Just make sure to have enough raid passes, or buy some using PokeCoins if needed.
Sometimes you can also encounter Zekrom by completing event-themed Special Research Tasks. These are given during special events, like the Road to Unova. So make sure to actively play the game. Finally, the final way to get a Zekrom is by trading it with other players. If you’re not familiar with trading, then visit our Pokemon GO trading guide for a better understanding.
Fusing Zekrom with Kyurem in Pokemon GO
You can fuse your Zekrom with a Kyurem in Pokemon GO using Volt Fusion Energy to get a Black Kyurem.
Volt Fusion Energy can be obtained by defeating Black Kyurem in raids. Each raid battle yields a minimum of 80 Fusion Energy, and sometimes more, depending on the raid speed and bonus challenge. To farm 1000 Volt Fusion Energy, you need to complete at least 10 Black Kyurem raids.
Along with 1000 Volt Fusion Energy, you need to make sure that you have 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy, a Kyurem, and a Zekrom. With all these resources ready, you can fuse your Zekrom with Kyurem by clicking on the Fuse option of your choice of Kyurem.

We recommend that you fuse a Kyurem with the move Glaciate* to get the legacy move on your Black Kyurem, and utilise its Adventure Effects. Freeze Shock is the Adventure Effect of Black Kyurem, which locks and freezes the Pokemon for 10 minutes, making it easier to catch.
Note:
The stats of your Black Kyurem depends on the Kyurem, and not the Zekrom. Fusing your best Kyurem with the weakest Zekrom is recommended. That way you can still use your stronger Zekrom in battles, without making them unavailable.
Can Shiny Zekrom Be Found in Pokemon GO?

Yes, shiny Zekrom can be found in Pokemon GO. Like other Legendaries, Zekrom has a base shiny rate of 1 in 20. This means you can encounter one shiny for every 20 Zekrom raids. The shiny rate is significantly lower compared to any wild Pokemon spawn and spotlight hour spawns.
However, you don’t have to worry, as getting a shiny Black Kyurem doesn’t require a shiny Zekrom. You simply need a shiny Kyurem for that.
Where is Zekrom Ranked in Pokemon GO Meta?
Zekrom is a very powerful Electric and Dragon attacker in the current Pokemon GO Meta. Here’s a complete analysis of Zekrom’s rankings:
- Raid Attacker: Zekrom is considered a top-tier Raid Attacker, boasting a high defense, sttack, and stamina. With a very consistent TDO, it can deal a lot of damage in raids, without fainting early on. Zekrom also competes with some top Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and legendaries in the game.
- Gym Defender: As a Legendary Pokemon, Zekrom cannot defend Gyms.
- Dragon Type Attacker: Zekrom ranks in the top 30 Dragon-type attackers with Dragon Breath and Outrage. However, Pokemon like Eternatus, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Salamance, and Dialga are ruling as the best options.
- Electric Type Attacker: Zekrom shines brighter as an Electric-type attacker rather than a Dragon attacker. It ranks in the top 7, with Charge Beam and Fusion Bolt*.
- Ultra League: Zekrom belongs in the top 370, and isn’t a worthy Pokemon for this league. Ultra League requires at least 2500 CP, and Zekrom’s being a legendary Pokemon, its stats will get lower with its level and CP, making it a very bad choice.
- Master League: On the other hand, Zekrom is one of the best choices for Master League with a whopping rank of top 10. Master League is filled with Dragon and Steel Pokemon, and Zekrom, being an Electric Dragon, has a lot of play in this league.
That’s everything you need to know about Zekrom in Pokemon GO. How many Zekrom raids are you planning? Let us know in the comments.
