If you are a melophile like me, who loves to discover new tracks, then Spotify or Apple Music’s Discover Weekly playlist is a boon for us. Well, YouTube Music has been playing catch with its competitors ever since its launch. It’s now added another feature that all YouTube Music users will appreciate – Discover Mix.

The newly added Discover Mix playlist can be seen as one supplementing the “Released” playlist that was also recently introduced in YouTube Music. It offers you a 49-new song collection that’s tuned to your liking and updated on a weekly basis – every Wednesday.

As pointed by many on Reddit, where a user first posted about this new feature, Discover Mix includes brand new tunes (not the ones you may have liked or heard before) not only from artists you’ve listened in the past but also from new artists based on your taste. The playlist isn’t restricted to a specific genre and you can find yourself dabbling with a bit of everything.

In addition, YouTube Music recently rolled out the “YouTube Charts” feature in India to display India-specific lists of trending songs, artists, music videos in one place. All of the lists are updated every week at 12:30 pm, with the ranking calculated on the basis of official versions of the song, including “the official music video, official song used in user-generated content and lyric videos.”

So, YouTube Music is improving by the day and is the perfect music streaming service for users, who listen to a ton of music via YouTube and already have their recommendations fine-tuned over the years.
