Alongside the Redmi 6 Pro launch in China, Xiaomi has unveiled the much-awaited Mi Pad 4 tablet as well. This is a successor to the Mi Pad 3, launched in early 2017, and goes on sale on June 27 starting at 1099 yuan (Around Rs 11,499).

The Mi Pad 4 will be available in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+LTE variants, which is surely a bump above the Mi Pad 3 as it only supported Wi-Fi connectivity.

Key Specs

Coming to the major specs of the Mi Pad 4, the tablet sports an 8-inch Full-HD display with an odd 16:10 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with two RAM and storage variants – 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB respectively.

Xiaomi has also upgraded the design of the new Mi Pad, such that the body is 9.4% smaller than the last-gen tablet and can comfortably fit in most hands. You’ll notice the Mi Pad 4 has big bezels, which stands out in a device in 2018, but that makes sense on a tablet as it would allow you to grip the device better.

The Mi Pad features a single 13MP rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture whereas the front camera is a 5MP shooter with the same aperture. While tablets are not really meant for photography, these sensors should be good enough for casual photos. With no fingerprint reader, the front camera comes in handy for AI Face Unlock.

The Mi Pad 4 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Xiaomi’s popular MIUI skin on top. The highlight of this tablet is also the massive 6,000 mAh battery, which should suffice day-to-day media consumption and work needs for the users.
