Xiaomi is scheduled to launch the Mi Mix 2S, the successor to its previous bezel-less marvel Mi Mix 2, on March 27. While we already knew that the device is going to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset, the rumor mill had been speculating that Mi Mix 2 will come with a tiny notch at the top-right corner.

However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has crushed our longing for that sleek design choice and now revealed that the Mi Mix 2S will sport a look much similar to its predecessor. He has today shared the official press images for the device, which features Chinese-Canadian actor Kris Wu, on his Weibo account.

As you can see in the press images attached below, the Mi Mix 2 will still have an edge-to-edge display with a teeny-tiny top bezel to house the earpiece and a familiar bottom bezel with the front camera. Even though we cannot spot any differences, Xiaomi would surely have improved the aesthetics and trimmed the overall build as compared to Mi Mix 2.

Since I’m not the biggest fan of the front camera placement on the Mi Mix 2, I had been expecting Xiaomi to adopt the new notched design.

The posters do not reveal anything about the rear of the Mi Mix 2S, which could feature some of the biggest changes. Xiaomi is expected to debut a dual-camera system, similar in looks to the Redmi Note 5 Pro and adding many AI-powered tricks. It’ll possibly take a departure from using ceramic to introduce wireless charging as well.

Certain leaks have also revealed that Mi Mix 2S would launch with Android 8.1 Oreo, running MIUI 9, and a huge 3,400mAh battery. That’s everything we know about the Mi Mix 2S at the moment. What are your expectations from this device? Let us know in the comments below.
