WWE 2K26 has finally been revealed by 2K Games and WWE on social media during the airing of Smackdown on January 23, 2026. WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition releases at the same time and date as WWE 2K26 in early March 2026, just weeks before Wrestlemania 42 takes place on April 18, 2026.
Like each year, WWE releases its games usually before Wrestlemania to build up on the hype of the biggest wrestling event of the year. So this year, like last year, you can expect WWE 2K26 and the Attitude Era Edition to release somewhere around March 14, 2026.

WWE 2K26 Attitude Era pre-orders will go live on January 30, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The price for this edition hasn’t been revealed yet, but given the kind of content this premium version of the game will pack, it’s safe to say it will be priced at a $149.99 price point.

Who is on the WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition Cover?
The WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition cover features iconic WWE superstars from the Attitude Era (1997-2002) like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kane, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Rock, Kurt Angle, The Dudley Boyz, Stephanie McMahon, Trish Stratus, Lita, and Chyna.
This premium edition of 2K26 will also bring these superstars to the roster in their Attitude Era costumes and gameplay styles.

As seen in the WWE 2K26 Attitude Era teaser, the gameplay is focused on the hardcore match types that were famous during the late 90s in WWE. The game is rumored to bring three new types of matches, namely, Three Stages of Hell, Inferno Match, and I Quit! Match.
These matches were signature in the Attitude Era and were absent from 2K25. So, fans are hoping 2K adds these iconic match types to the game in the upcoming title. Furthermore, in the trailer, players also saw glimpses of some of the most hardcore moments in the Attitude Era, like Stone Cold getting arrested, Undertaker throwing Mankind from the top of the cell, Kane hitting a chokeslam to an opponent on a burning table, Kurt Angle hosing an opponent with a hose pipe, and DX with their signature absurd pranks.
