WWE 2K titles are among the best-selling video games of all time. The billion-dollar wrestling franchise has been churning out a new entry every year since 1989, with developers like Yuke’s (Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain and SmackDown vs. Raw) crafting some of the franchise’s most iconic releases.
However, Visual Concepts took over the development of WWE games starting with 2K20, with 2K remaining as the publisher. And last year’s title, WWE 2K25, brought some massive changes to the gameplay, introducing a new open-world mode called The Island as well as a stunning Bloodline Edition packed with tons of content.
Now, 2K is once again ready to shake things up with this year’s WWE title 2K26, bringing the company’s latest roster and a throwback to the most iconic WWE era in history. On that note, here’s everything you need to know about WWE 2K26.
WWE 2K26 Release Date
The WWE 2K26 release date is March 13, 2026, with a 7-day early access period for owners of the premium editions starting on March 6. These dates line up with the release cadence of the past four entries in the franchise.
WWE games have historically aimed for a March release date, as it helps raise the anticipation for the biggest PPV of the year, Wrestlemania.

Currently, it’s unknown whether the game will arrive on Netflix or not, but given the success of 2K25 on mobile devices via the Netflix Games app, it’s highly likely that 2K26 will appear on the platform a few months after release.
Who is WWE 2K26’s Cover Star?

WWE 2K26’s cover star is the one and only CM Punk. The self-proclaimed Best in the World stars on the cover of the game’s Standard Edition, marking his second appearance on the cover of a WWE game. The last time Punk was on a WWE video game cover was on WWE 13 in 2012 – well into the Pepsi Phil’s 434-day reign as the WWE Champion.
Naturally, the WWE 2K26 Showcase is all about the superstar’s career, featuring some of his most iconic matches.
