In Short
  • WWE 2K26 pre-orders go live on January 30, 2026.
  • The game is speculated to be released in early March 2026, ahead of Wrestlemania 42.
  • Players can also pre-order a special Attitude Era edition with bonuses ahead of launch.

WWE games are one of the most popular gaming titles in sports, especially combat sports. The billion-dollar wrestling franchise is known to release a new WWE video game every year, ever since 1989, and developers like Yuke’s (Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain and SmackDown vs. Raw) have been behind some of the franchise’s most iconic titles.

However, Visual Concepts took the reins behind the WWE games development since 2K20, while 2K remained as the publisher. Last year’s title, WWE 2K25, brought some massive changes to the gameplay, while introducing a new open-world mode called The Island and a stunning Bloodline Edition packed with tons of content.

Now, 2K is once again ready to shake things up with this year’s WWE title 2K26, bringing the company’s latest roster and a throwback to the most iconic WWE era in history. Here’s everything you need to know about WWE 2K26.

WWE 2K26 Release Date Speculation

WWE 2K26 is rumored to release in early March 2026, weeks before WrestleMania 42 takes place on April 18-19, 2026.

While the developers have kept things under wraps about the release date as of now, we can assume this year’s title will release around March 14, the same time 2K25 was released last year, just in time for WrestleMania.

WWE 2K26 Pre-Order, Price, and Editions

WWE 2K26 pre-orders have been confirmed to go live on January 30, 2026, as WWE shared a 30-second teaser on X about the game’s Attitude Era edition. This edition will bring back the iconic hardcore era of late 90s-early 2000s WWE (known as WWF back then) where the company went in a bold direction with its entertainment offerings.

The WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition is rumored to be priced at $149.99 and will feature a special showcase where players may be able to revisit some of the most iconic moments in WWE history during that time. In the teaser, we got glimpses of some moments like Stone Cold’s debut, The Rock’s heel turn, the formation of DX, Mankind vs The Undertaker, Stone Cold getting arrested, Kurt Angle’s backstage brawl, and much more.

Apart from the Attitude Era edition, players will also have the option to buy a Standard Edition and one surprise edition. However, pricing and info for both have not been revealed as of yet.

WWE 2K26 Platforms

WWE 2K26 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Currently, it’s unknown if the game will arrive on Netflix or not, but with the success of 2K25 on mobile devices via the Netflix Games app, it’s highly likely that 2K26 will appear on the platform in a few months down the line after its initial release cycle.

Who is WWE 2K26’s Cover Star?

The cover star for WWE 2K26 has not been revealed yet, as WWE has posted multiple video teasers asking superstars about who they think would be featured.

However, fan theories and speculations online point towards CM Punk being featured once again on the cover of a WWE game. The last time Punk was on a WWE video game cover was on WWE 13 in 2013, when Punk’s championship reign was going on as he was a Paul Heyman guy, and at the same time, he also dropped his infamous Pipebomb promo.

If this speculation turns out to be true, players could relive some of Punk’s iconic moments in WWE in the showcase mode and drop their own version of Pipebomb on the mic.
