Who Is Screwllum in Honkai Star Rail? Explained

Honkai Star Rail has a wide range of characters, most of them being playable, while some are still to be playable in the game. Many of the non-playable characters in the game have really high significance to the world of Star Rail, and the game’s Lore. Screwllum is one such character who is introduced to players fairly early in the game, however, his true identity or origin is never clearly revealed. Screwllum Is a Member of Genius Society in HSR

Screwllum is the #76 member of the Genius Society and is a mechanical life form. He is considered to be one of the best hackers in the Star Rail universe, rivaling only Silver Wolf of the Stellaron Hunters. He also owns the Planet Screwllum, which is inhabited by mechanical lifeforms called Screwllumites. This planet is powered by a planetary engine called the Steel Sun, with its core composed of countless levers, pistons, and gears.

At present, Herta, Screwllum, Ruan Mei, and Stephen Lloyd have come together to create the Simulated Universe, which we all adore playing in Honkai Star Rail. Screwllum also holds the intellectual property rights of the Simulated Universe jointly with Herta and Ruan Mei.

Screwllum’s History in Honkai Star Rail

Mechanical Aristocrat Screwllum 1, aka Screwllum, was not always part of the Genius Society. He was one of the active oppositions of Rubert 1, the #27 of the Genius Society who wanted to destroy the Universe of all organic lifeforms.

Ruber 1’s actions forced the IPC to consider eliminating all Mechanical Lifeforms instead. However, Screwllum eventually managed to win peace for Mechanical Lifeforms and he continues to issue orders to hunt down the Machines that follow Rubert 1’s orders. He was eventually selected by Nous, the Aeon of Erudition to be the #76 member of the Genius Society.

Soon after the Trailblazer’s awakening, we learn that the Stellaron Hunters had invaded Planet Screwllum, ruled by Screwllum himself. Screwllum had to eventually face the Stellaron Hunters himself and send them away. However, Silver Wolf managed to hack into one of Screwllum’s codes, showing that she is indeed on par with the #76 of the Genius Society, even though she was defeated in the end.

Is Screwllum Playable in Honkai Star Rail

Screwllum is currently not a playable character in Honkai Star Rail. There is currently no official information from Hoyoverse on whether Screwllum will ever be a playable character or not, however, we have seen plenty of leaks recently indicating that Screwllum might soon feature on the banners.

One leak on Reddit via Homedgcat, reveals that Screwllum might feature in the Honkai Star Rail 2.6 version, which is quite soon. It is still too early to have an accurate kit leak for Screwllum, and we don’t know yet whether he will be a 5-star or 4-star character.
