After almost 2 years, Invincible Season 3 is up and running, bringing us the next chapter of Mark AKA Invincible’s adventures. With the new chapter comes a brand new villain Mark has to stand against. The villain I am referring to here is Powerplex, and even though he was a minor antagonist in the Invincible comic books, in the series, we got to see a much more prominent version of the character. So, without further ado, let me tell you all about Powerplex, his powers, and the abilities we saw in Invincible Season 3.
Who Is Powerplex in Invincible?

In Invincible Comics, Powerplex’s actual name is Scott Duvall. He was an employee at the GDA and worked in the science division. Scott became a villain named Powerplex to avenge the death of his sister, who died during the battle between Invincible and Omni-Man. This is the reason why Powerplex hates Invincible. He held Invincible accountable for the death of his sister and created a suit using kinetic energy plates he stole from the GDA to use against Invincible and potentially kill him. However, while attempting to kill Invincible, Scott ends up incinerating his wife and son.
In comics, he was sent to a high security prison where he still blamed Mark for what happened to his family. However, he did not stay in prison for long and escaped from there when Angstrom Levy attacked Earth with the other variants of Mark from the multiverse during the Invincible War in Invincible #60. Seeing the different versions of Mark flying around and causing destruction, his belief that Mark is evil only strengthened, and he thought that Invinicible was the one behind this attack.
He attacked Mark again but was not able to stand his ground for too long before being sent to prison again. The villain re-emerged in Invincible #81, where Cecil freed him and some other villains to start a new Superhero team called the Actioneers. However, his work as a hero did not last long since he once again attacked Invincible, where Mark was able to finally make him accept that the death of his wife and son was his own fault.
How Does Powerplex Die in Invincible Comics?
The interaction between Invincible and Powerplex, where the former makes him understand that his wife and son died due to his own actions, acted as a self-awakening for Invincible. He started thinking that Scott was not completely wrong and started having second thoughts about how he saved people. This led Mark to break Powerplex out of prison in Invincible #84, and since then, Powerplex became more of an anti-hero rather than being hell bent on killing Invincible. In comics, Powerplex doesn’t die and remains an anti-hero whenever he appears.
What Are Powerplex’s Powers in Invincible?
Powerplex’s suit comprises kinetic energy plates that absorb any impact it faces and turn it into a high-energy electrical pulse. This allows him to exploit one of the few Viltrumite weaknesses, and in the comic books, using high-voltage electricity, he has been able to stand his ground against Omni-Man as well. Initially, he was captured and put into a high-security prison but during the Invincible War event, which is now certain to happen in Invincible Season 3, he broke out of there and once again went after Mark.
Who Is the Powerplex Voice Actor in Invincible?
Powerplex is voiced by Aaron Paul in Invincible Season 3. Best known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in the highly acclaimed TV show Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul has delivered an impeccable performance as Powerplex in Invincible.
Powerplex has been a recurring villain in Invincible Comics. Since he has met his comic-accurate fate in the series, there is a high possibility that, moving forward, he could become a series regular.
