- Superman (2025) shows us that Lex Luthor built Pocket Dimensions.
- He did it to use the dimension as a prison as well as to carry out research and operations to take down Superman and discredit him in public opinion.
- In DC Comics, Pocket Dimensions were not built by someone, but tapped into by heroes using their powers.
Superman (2025) is killing it in the theaters with its bright and hopeful tone, and if you have been waiting for this movie to come out, I just know that you had a wonderful time watching it. However, we were introduced to a new concept in the movie, more specifically, the concept of Pocket Dimension, and while we are awaiting to see more of it in Peacemaker Season 2, I’m sure that the concept itself sounds quite interesting so, let me tell you all we know about Pocket Dimension in Superman (2025).
What Is a Pocket Dimension in Superman (2025)?

While the concept of Pocket Dimensions comes from DC comics, it was altered a bit by James Gunn’s DCU. In DC Comics, Pocket Dimensions are independent spaces that exist outside of the actual reality or universe, and have different physical as well as scientific properties.
However, if we look at Superman (2025), we get to see that Lex Luthor is credited with creating the Pocket Dimensions; he made them by causing a “Mini Big Bang,” and all his schemes to take down Superman as well as all his illegal activities take place in this pocket dimension.
Now, while this addition is interesting and dives into the obsession of Lex Luthor with Superman, it also nods to the inclusion of Peacemaker Season 2 in the DCU. We have already seen in the first season of Peacemaker that the superhero takes super-powered helmets from a Pocket Dimension. James Gunn has also confirmed that we will see more about Pocket Dimensions in Peacemaker Season 2. So, with Superman, Gunn has established the concept of the Pocket Dimension and how dangerous they are.
In fact, towards the end of Superman (2025), we see Superman pushing Ultraman into a black hole created due to an anomaly in the Pocket Dimension.
