Warzone Season 4 Reloaded is en route, bringing new game modes, weapons, and much more to the game. The Season 4 update introduced a major change to Verdansk in the form of the new Overlook POI. The in-construction skyscraper was released alongside the Clash LTM and the returning FFAR 1 Assault Rifle. Now, it’s time for the mid-season update to freshen things up. With the official season debriefing out, we now have confirmation on all the content coming to the game. So, here’s everything you need to know about Warzone Season 4 Reloaded.

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Release Date

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded will be released on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM ET/ 5:00 PM GMT).

Judging by the release cadence of prior Reloaded updates, which are released at the halfway point of the ongoing season, many expected Season 4 Reloaded to arrive on June 26. But it looks like the season suffered from an internal delay. Nevertheless, its release date has now been confirmed.

Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Features

With the official Season 4 Reloaded blog post out, the full scale of the update has been revealed. So, here’s a look at all of the new content coming to Warzone:

New Weapons

  • Olympia
  • Pickaxe

Olympia, the classic double-barrel shotgun last seen in Black Ops 3, is set to join Warzone. Given its close-range emphasis, we can’t imagine the weapon being popular in Verdansk, but it’s certainly more suited to Rebirth Island. The second weapon joining the game is the Pickaxe, a throwable melee weapon that can eliminate enemies with a single hit.

Both weapons will be available as unlockable rewards in the Beavis and Butt-Head event.

New Modes

Three new game modes will be added to the rotation in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, two of which are different variations of Resurgence. The first is the returning Ranked Play Resurgence game mode, complete with a separate ranking system that you can grind to earn this season’s Ranked Play rewards.

Next up is Resurgence Casual, a less intense version of the standard mode with 44-player lobbies that are made up of real users and bots. Given how popular the casual Battle Royale Quads mode has been among players, this appears to be a sound move on Activision’s part, making Resurgence less sweaty and more accessible to a large number of players.

The third new game mode is Havoc Royale, a more condensed and chaotic version of the Verdansk experience that takes place in 44-player lobbies. In it, players are dropped into specific areas of the BR map — Downtown, Airport, or Train Station. With their loadouts pre-equipped, the objective is straightforward: Be the last team standing. However, you’ll need to contend with a variety of gameplay modifiers that come into effect whenever a new gas zone coalesces on the map.

In addition to this, a cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island will be added to Warzone to commemorate the Beavis and Butt-Head event. So, keep your eyes peeled for that one.

Solo Playlist Update

As mentioned earlier, the Battle Royale Casual Quads mode has been quite popular, which has caused Activision to rethink Warzone’s solo playlist. This, coupled with the Standard Battle Royale Solos mode driving the least amount of player engagement, has prompted the devs to test a Casual BR Solo mode.

As the name suggests, the game mode is basically Battle Royale Solos, but with ‘Casual’ modifiers thrown in. This means that you’ll be squaring off against a limited number of real players and a fixed set of bots every game. The mode is currently available in the playlist, with Activision measuring the community’s opinion on it.

New Gameplay Features

A selection of new gameplay features that also previously debuted as part of the Clash LTM will be joining Verdansk once the update arrives. Here’s an overview of the features:

  • Search & Destroy Contract: After acquiring the contract, players will need to plant or defuse a bomb on a buy station to trigger a fire sale and gather high-quality loot. The contract will be made available across Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Plunder.
  • Care Package Kill Streak: A throwable Kill Stream that drops a loadout-sized crate from the skies. Inside, you’ll find quality loot including rare equipment, the Specialist Perk, and more. Available across all modes.
  • Door Barricade Field Upgrade: Coming to BR and BR Casual via the Care Package, the Field Upgrade lets you set up a lockable barrier to block doors.
  • Hand Cannon Kill Streak: The ultimate difference-maker, the Handcannon is a powerful sidearm that is handicapped by limited ammo. Make every shot count when this Kill Streak hits Battle Royale, BR Casual, and Plunder via the Care Package.
  • Loot Master Perk: Available only as Ground Loot during Resurgence and Plunder matches, the Loot Master Perk allows you to maximize your scavenging potential and gear up faster by increasing the amount of loot you find while opening caches.

That wraps up everything you need to know about Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. What are your first impressions of all the new content? Let us know in the comments.
