Vodafone’s New Rs 255 Prepaid Voucher Offers 2GB Data Per Day

Vodafone Announces Two Data-Heavy Plans Starting ₹549 to Counter Reliance Jio

Vodafone has launched a new prepaid special tariff voucher (STV) that costs Rs. 255, and offers 2GB of data per day. It comes with a validity of 28-days, and offers bundled voice calls, free national roaming and 100 SMSes daily. The voice calls, however, are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.

It’s worth noting here that the recharge voucher has only been released in some telecom circles in the country, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, UP East, and UP West.

That being the case, Vodafone subscribers in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Assam, Bihar and Jharkhand, Chennai, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal circles are being left out of its purview, although, it isn’t immediately clear if the company will eventually launch the plan throughout the country.

The STV is expected to compete against similar offerings from the likes of Airtel, BSNL and Reliance Jio, with many of them offering similar, or even better value for money. Jio, for instance, recently introduced a Rs. 251 IPL pack that offers 2GB of data per day over a period of 51 days. As with all other Jio packs, it also offers unlimited talk, free national roaming and 100 SMSes per day alongside the generous data allocation.

State-owned telecom giant BSNL also offers a Rs 248 STV that comes with the exact same validity as the aforementioned Jio pack, and even offers 50 percent more data as compared to the Mukesh Ambani-led telco. However, even though it offers 3GB of daily data instead of 2GB, it can only offer 3G speeds in most circles except for Kerala, where it recently launched its 4G services.
