With the launch of the Vivo Z1 Pro earlier this year, the company has revamped its strategy to take on the assault of Redmi and Realme smartphones in the budget market. Now, the Chinese giant is taking another step to counter these brands with the launch of its new Vivo Z1x mid-range smartphone in India today. It’s a rebranded Vivo Z5 that launched in China earlier this year, with a powerful chipset, 48MP camera, and a lot more.
Vivo Z1x: Specs and Features
On the design front, the Vivo Z1x boasts a polycarbonate build (similar to the Z1 Pro) but with a slightly different and attractive gradient design that looks quite stunning under light.
Unlike the Z1 Pro, the Vivo Z1x features a new 6.38-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display, with a 90% screen-to-body ratio and 2340×1080 pixels resolution. It also has 103% color gamut support with the same Schott xensation glass protection up-top as the Z1 Pro. Another big change that you notice here is the presence of a waterdrop notch instead of a punch-hole design. There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner onboard here as well.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 712 chipset (already seen on its possibly affordable sibling – Vivo Z1 Pro), paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s support for 22.5W FlashCharge technology and a 4,500mAh battery pack on board, which is surely a great thing for gamers.
In the camera department, the Vivo Z1x comes outfitted with a vertical triple-lens module with a primary 48MP Sony IMX582 primary sensor. It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. You will also find a 32MP selfie camera housed in the waterdrop notch, which is the same as Z1 Pro.
As you may already know, Vivo Z1x runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch 9.1 with a boatload of features like Multi Turbo and Ultra Game Turbo for better performance. All of your essential connectivity options are present on the device.
Vivo Z1x: Price and Availability
Vivo Z1x has been priced starting at Rs. 16,990 for the 6GB+64GB base variant. But, you will need to shell out a couple thousand bucks extra (Rs. 18,990) for the 6GB+128GB variant.
It will be available in two color variants, namely Fusion Blue and Phantom Purple. Vivo Z1x goes on sale stating from 13th September, exclusively on Flipkart and Vivo’s official website.
