While announcing the sequel project, Roth stated that the script for the film would take at least a year to finish, and now, in August 2024, the writers have handed over the scripts to the production team.

Roth opened up, saying, ‘I love Addison Rae. We kept her alive for a reason. It doesn’t feel like a ‘Thanksgiving’ movie without Addison Rae.’
What Could be Thanksgiving 2 Plot
The first film ended up revealing the killer’s true identity. We were shocked to learn that Sheriff Eric Newton, aka. John Carver was behind all the brutal deaths. Well, Jessica and Bobby somehow managed to blow up the killer and escape, but we didn’t see the cops capturing him. So, it would be safe to assume that he might return to hunt Jessica and her fellow survivors in the upcoming film.
The other theory also suggests that if Thanksgiving follows the Scream franchise’s pattern, we might see a new killer. If that happens, we might see the new killer following a different motivation to do the killings.
