- Gi-Hun has survived and will take revenge on The Frontman.
Squid Game Season 2 stood on almost all the pedestals the fandom expected it to with its brutality, twisted humor, and of course, the sinister children’s games all wrapped in a gripping story. However, just like last time, this season also featured some deaths that were rather sad or undeserving so let’s talk about the top 5 saddest deaths in Squid Game 2.
1. Young-mi (Kim Shi-eun)
Young-mi played by Kim Shi-eun was a timid character who lost her life while playing Mingle in episode 5. As the wheel stopped spinning, she was taken by Hyun-Ju’s team to one of the rooms but on the way, she bumped into one of the players and got left behind. The timer stopped before she could reach safety, and the doors locked automatically, resulting in her being shot to death by one of the crew members in Squid Game 2.
2. Kyung-seok (Lee Jin-wook)
Kyung-seok played by Lee Jin-wook was not in the game for selfish reasons but to raise money for his daughter’s treatment. At the very beginning of the show, we see that this player’s daughter suffers from blood cancer and after collapsing in the street is taken to a hospital. There, we get to know that Kyung-seok needs to raise a lot of money to save his daughter, and to make that kind of money, he takes part in the Squid Game.
Even though he survived the games till the end of Squid Game Season 2, he was killed by one of the guards when he joined Gi-hun in his rebellion against the games even after he surrendered.
3. Mr Kim (Jun Suk-ho)
Mr. Kim was the leader of the gang to whom Gi-hun owed money in the first season. However, after winning the Squid Game, Gi-hun hired him and his people to look for The Recruiter. The entire gang searched the metro lines tirelessly and finally, Mr. Kim and Choi Woo-seok found and followed The Recruiter while waiting for Gi-hun to arrive. However, they got impatient and attacked him only to be captured by The Recruiter. He makes both of them play Rock, Paper, scissors minus one and Mr. Kim sacrifices himself to save Choi Woo-seok’s life.
4. Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan)
Jung-bae was the closest friend of Gi-hun and was also present in Squid Game season 1. In this season, he joined the games after his divorce to raise money to overcome bankruptcy. He followed Gi-hun at every step and even came forward when they attacked the guards and stole their weapons to retaliate. However, by the end of Squid Game Season 2, he met his death right in front of Gi-hun at the hands of The Frontman.
5. Se Mi (Won Ji-an)
Se Mi joined the team with Thanos, Nam Gyu, and Min Su under the impression that since Thanos and Nam Gyu are dim-witted, she can have an upper hand while also helping out the timid Min Su. However, while playing Mingle, she was left behind by the three of them and even though she survived, she decided to end the game after facing death so closely.
Now since she chose the blue button, Nam Gyu attacked her at night and even though she tried to fight back, she was overpowered and brutally murdered by him.
