Jujutsu Kaisen fans are desperately waiting for the release of Season 3, the Culling Game arc. However, only hardcore JJK fans realize that the upcoming season, while being action-packed, will be extremely heartbreaking. Several things will happen in JJK Season 3 that will break the fandom emotionally. If you think Gojo’s sealing was sad, wait till you see what the next season will have to offer.
Spoiler Alert:
This post contains heavy spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen manga. So, read at your own risk.
1. Gojo’s Absence Will Be Felt

Everyone deserves a mentor like Gojo, who would do anything for his students. Gojo was someone who was the best when it came to humour, and he was also the one to beat the crap out of enemies singlehandedly. In the first two seasons, he was one of the main reasons fans didn’t miss a single episode of the anime. His confident smile and charming personality not only motivated his students but also encouraged the curses to fight with their full potential, as it won’t be easy to defeat the blindfolded sorcerer this easily.
When he was around, no one dared attack his students directly, so Kenjaku planned to take him down before moving forward with his ultimate plan. Now that Gojo won’t be there, the entire Jujutsu world is on the verge of collapsing. After losing their father figure and the compass, Yuji and Megumi will have to step forward to take the damage. Moreover, the higher-ups of the Jujutsu society also show their true colors after the most genuine and beloved Gojo Satoru fell prey to the wicked curses.
2. Kenjaku’s Terrifying Plan in Motion

Everyone is already familiar with the manipulative nature of Kenjaku, but no anime-only fan really knows what the true intention of the ancient sorcerer is or what he is truly after. Well, Jujutsu Kaisen will come with those answers, and we will finally be able to watch how horrifying the not-so-chaotic ancient sorcerer truly is. Like most ancient sorcerers, Kenjaku is way more terrifying because he is calculating, waiting for the right time to showcase his abilities.
In the manga, it is revealed that Kenjaku orchestrates the Culling Game because he wants to see humanity’s true potential, so he can merge all of humankind with Tengen to create a single cursed entity. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will see the entire of Japan becoming a battlefield with sorcerers, curses, and reincarnated spirits participating in the game.
3. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Be Filled With Tragic Deaths
If you believe that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 gave you the major death sequences, you’re not entirely right. The third season is coming your way to show you that, unlike other anime out there, death is not only a part of JJK’s story, but it is a statement. Also, you might already know that in Jujutsu Kaisen, something called ‘Plot Armour’ doesn’t exist. Gege Akutami never shies away from killing off the character, no matter how crucial they have been in the storyline.
Every death featured in JJK Season 3 will surely feel heavy and will leave a forever scar in your hearts. Also, Culling Game means kill or be killed, so it will show no mercy to the characters, as well as the viewers.
4. Megumi’s Worst Nightmare Becomes Reality

Since the day Kenjaku placed Tsumiki in the cursed coma, Megumi has lived to bring her sister’s consciousness back. After Tsumiki mysteriously awakens during the Culling Game and enters the battlefield, Megumi, along with Yuji, voluntarily decides to enter the game. However, he wasn’t aware of the danger that awaited him. He learns that the one to appear in front of him is not his sister; instead, she has become the vessel for an ancient sorceress named Yorozu. Well, that was just the beginning.
As the story progresses, Megumi falls prey to Sukuna’s culling plan and ends up becoming his vessel. He fights with Yorozu in Tsumik’s body and many other sorcerers. So, basically, Megumi unwantingly kills his own sister and the ones he wanted to protect.
5. Yuji’s Emotional Collapse

Following the Shibuya Incident Arc, Yuji had been through hell, and it seems Gege Akutami wanted him to be strong enough to handle some more tragic events. After bombarding him with the traumatic deaths of Nanami and others, Yuji will have to face the tragedies that await him. With Gojo captured and Nanami dead, Yuji enters Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 with Megumi, but he soon watches his friend become the vessel to Sukuna.
The King of Curses made Yuji do terrible things in the second season, and now, he will do the same thing to his friend.
Yes, the entire season 3 of JJK will be an emotional wreck, but these are the major reasons why the next season will shake everyone to their cores.
