Pokemon GO Precious Pals Event: All Bonuses, Spawns, and More

Precious Pals is the new weekly event in Pokemon GO, replacing the High Zaptitude event. This event, like others, brings numerous additional bonuses that you can enjoy with other players. The event also features plenty of rare Pokemon, spawning in the wild and hatching from eggs. One of the Pokemon will be appearing in the game for the first time, and your perfect chance to snag it before others. In this guide, you’ll get all the information regarding the Pokemon GO Precious Pals event.

Pokemon GO Precious Pals Event Start Date and Time

The Precious Pals event in Pokemon GO was released on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and will be available for 5 days. We have listed the start and the end times below.

• Start Date and Time: Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10 AM local time
• End Date and Time: Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8 PM local time

Once this Pokemon GO event ends, you will no longer be able to take part and obtain the rewards.

Pokemon GO Precious Pals Event Bonuses

The Precious Pals event offers bonuses for increasing friendship with your buddy Pokemon and boosted shiny rates. Here’s a list of them:

• Additional Candy XL when walking with your Buddy Pokémon
• Earn additional hearts with your Buddy Pokémon
• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Goldeen
• Increased chance to hatch Shiny Goldeen and Shiny Fidough
• Event-themed new Field Research tasks
• Event-themed new Timed Research
• Ticket for Premium Timed Research

Limited Time Evolution Bonuses

During the event, the following evolution requirements will be temporarily changed:

• Pawmo and Pawmot: Evolve Pawmo into Pawmot after exploring 5 km with Pawmo as your buddy.
• Eevee and Sylveon: Evolve Eevee into Sylveon after earning 20 hearts with Eevee as your buddy.
• Pancham and Pangoro: Evolve Pancham into Pangoro after catching ten Dark-type Pokémon with Pancham as your buddy.

Note: These evolution requirements will return to the usual requirements when the event ends, on on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Shiny Pokemon Debut

Shiny Fidough and Shiny Dachsbun were released during the event, for the first time in Pokemon GO. Fidough evolves into Dachsbun using 50 Fidough candies. While this Pokemon isn’t that viable in the current Pokemon GO meta, you can hunt down its shiny for collection purposes. We recommend that you try to get two shiny Fidough: one for the first stage and the second for Dachsbun evolution.

You can take part in the event and catch a bunch of Pokemon, to complete the Precious Pals Challenge and obtain rewards.

Precious Pals Premium Timed Research

A paid timed research option for the Precious Pals event is also available in the shop, which you can purchase for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). You can buy the ticket or gift to your friends as well once they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.
