The Bug Out event is the new weekly event in Pokemon GO, that brings plenty of bonuses and new creatures for players to catch. The Pokemon spawning in this event are rare and can only be found for a limited time. That said, here’s all the information about Pokemon GO Bug Out event.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Start Date and Time
The Bug Out event in Pokemon GO will be released on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and is available for six days. We have listed the start and the end times below.
- Start Date and Time: Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 AM local time
- End Date and Time: Monday, March 23, 2026, at 8 PM local time
Once the Pokemon GO event ends, you will no longer be able to take part and obtain the rewards.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses
The Bug Out event offers Lure Module bonuses, XP, and boosted shiny rates, among others. Here’s a list of all bonuses:
- Different Pokemon will be attracted to regular Lure Modules during the event
- Paras, Combee, and Cutiefly attracted to regular Lure Modules will have an increased chance of being shiny
- 2× XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better throws (Tier 1 GO PASS)
- 2× Candy for successfully catching Pokemon (Tier 2 GO PASS)
- 3× Candy for successfully catching Pokemon (Tier 2 GO PASS Deluxe)
Make sure that you use your Lure Modules to make the most out of the event. You can even purchase them from the in-game shop by spending PokeCoins.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Spawns
There will be plenty of Pokemon spawning during the Bug Out event, and some of them will have an increased shiny rate. Among the regular spawns, a new Pokemon will also be making its debut in this event. We have listed all the information below.
New Pokemon Debuts

Blipbug is a pure Bug-type Pokemon debuting in Pokemon GO during the Bug Out event. You can use 25 Blipbug Candy to evolve Blipbug into Dottler and 100 Blipbug Candy to evolve Dottler into Orbeetle. When a new Pokemon debuts, you can catch it to fill your Pokedex, and collect resources like candies. However, the shiny variant is unavailable in the game right now.
Besides Blipbug, Sizzlipede and Centiskorch are getting a shiny version in the game. The odds are boosted which means this is your best chance to find one.
