Apple’s freshly announced iPhone line-up, the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max, bring a host of new features to the table such as a faster processor, better imaging capabilities, dual-SIM facility and of course, a bevy of vibrant color options. But one prominent feature they all miss is the 3.5mm headphone jack, and before you go all defensive for Apple and say that the bundled headphone dongle will suffice for it, you are in for some disappointment.
Apple will NOT ship a Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter with the new iPhone models, because well, it is Apple. Apple was generous enough to ship a headphone dongle with the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 duo as well as the iPhone 7 pair, all of which courageously ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, but unfortunately, you won’t find an adapter in the retail box of the new iPhone trip. 
The new line-up of iPhones is the most expensive ever, and while Apple has done a commendable job keeping the base price same for the new iPhones, the top-end model almost nudges the $1,500 mark. For a smartphone that will shave off $1,500 from your account, buyers almost definitely want some goodies in their box, let alone missing out on some really essential ones like a headphone dongle.
Just look at the retail box of the Galaxy Note 9, which packs in accessories such as a USB Type-C to Type-A adapter, AKG-tuned earphones, replacement earbuds and extra S-Pen tips. But if you are lined to buy any of the new iPhone models but can’t part ways with your high-end headphones with a 3.5mm cable, fret not, because Apple will continue to sell the Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter from its official website and retail outlets priced at $9.
The dongle’s asking price of $9 is not much for a person who is shelling out over a thousand dollars for a new iPhone, but then, what about buyers who expect at least an extra goodie, especially an essential one, for their expensive purchase.
