Minecraft Eyeblossom Flowers: Where to Find, How to Get, and More

In Short
  • The Eyeblossoms are native to the Pale Garden Biome and spawn naturally on the pale grass. Bone mealing the grass will also produce a few Eyeblossoms.
  • Players can use their hands to pick the Eyeblossoms. Moreover, these flowers are dropped if water flows through them or by using a piston.
  • The Eyeblossoms can make suspicious stews, yellow and orange dyes, or throw them in the composter to make bone meal.

Eyeblossoms are a new variety of flowers that have made their way into Minecraft with the latest Winter Update. These are the first flowers in Minecraft to have two new types – the Closed and Open Eyeblossoms. However, besides its pretty appearance, there’s a lot to know about this flower. Make your life easier by reading our all-in-one guide on the new Minecraft Eyeblossoms.

Having located a Pale Garden biome, head inside and explore this creepy and dark region. The flowers will naturally spawn on the biome’s surface. You can easily identify them by looking at the closed grey-colored petals if you are exploring the forest during the daytime. If you choose to come during the night, the flowers will bloom, revealing an orange-colored eye in the middle.

Alternatively, you can use bone meal on the grass to have a chance at producing Eyeblossoms manually. Once these flowers bloom at night, they won’t emit light to the surroundings. However, you will be able to spot them by their bright orange-colored eye.

How to Get Eyeblossoms in Minecraft

The Eyeblossoms are easily spotted by their bright orange eyes, so it is preferable to visit the Pale Garden biome at night if you want to collect a lot of them. Once you find them or bone meal the grass blocks to produce them, you can collect the Eyeblossoms simply by breaking them with your hand.

Other methods to collect the Eyeblossoms are using a piston or a water bucket if you wish to make an AFK farm for this flower. Placing the piston in such a way that it faces the flower will make it drop once the piston is activated. Furthermore, flowing water can also break and drop the flowers if they are in their way.

Another way to get Eyeblossom flowers in the game is by finding a Wandering Trader. Sometimes, you might find that he sells a few open Eyeblossoms for one emerald each. You won’t get any of the closed ones from him.

Minecraft Eyeblossoms Uses

Having obtained a decent amount of Eyeblossom flowers, you can use them to make dyes and suspicious stews or use them as compost. The best uses for Eyeblossoms are:

1. Making Suspicious Stews

  • Suspicious Stew From Open Eyeblossom Minecraft
  • Suspicious Stew From Closed Eyeblossom Minecraft

The Suspicious stews don’t have any effects listed once you craft them. You need to check these effects on your own. So, grab the common ingredients for making a stew, including the bowl, a red and a brown mushroom, and open up your crafting table.

Place the bowl on the leftmost bottom corner and a red mushroom on top of it. Now, place the brown mushroom on the right of the red one and a closed Eyeblossom below it. A similar recipe can be used to make another suspicious stew by replacing the closed with an Open Eyeblossom flower.

Having tested these stews in-game, we learned that the stew made from the closed Eyeblossom flower gives you a Nausea effect. Whereas using the Open one will give you a blindness effect.

2. Making Dyes

  • Eyeblossom dye orange
  • Eyeblossom dye gray

Both varieties of the Eyeblossoms are able to make two different colored dyes. Simply open up your crafting table and place a Closed Eyeblossom on any of the squares to get a Gray dye. Placing an Open Eyeblossom on one of the squares in the crafting table will produce an Orange dye. Now, you may use this dye to color your wool, carpets, beds, make banners, and so on.

3. Using in the Composter

The Eyeblossoms can be deposited in the Composter and have a 65% chance to fill it by one whole level. Now, the primary use of the Composter is to get a bone meal by completely filling it, or you may use it to make a farming workstation for a villager.

So, this was all about the Eyeblossoms in Minecraft and how you can locate, collect, and use them in the game for your various needs. Tell us in the comments below what you think of this new flower and whether it is a good idea to introduce new types of flowers in the game that have specific uses.
