Huawei has refreshed its MateBook X Pro lineup by launching new models with Intel’s latest 10th-gen Core processors. Apart from the new chips, the latest models, to be marketed as part of the MateBook X Pro 2020 lineup, retain most of the hardware components from last year’s models, including the 13.9-inch 3K LTPS FullView display with a 91-percent screen-to-body ratio and Nvidia’s GeForce MX250 GPU. Huawei is also introducing a new Emerald Green color option alongside the standard Space Gray and Mystic Silver.
Alongside that, the devices would also ship with up to 16GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz RAM, up to 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD, an 1MP HD pop-up webcam, a fingerprint scanner on the power button, 4x digital microphones, 4x speakers with Dolby Atmos sound, and Windows 10 Home out-of-the-box. The Corning Gorilla Glass-protected display panels on the MateBook X Pro 2020 will have 178-degree viewing angles, 450 nits brightness, 1500: 1 contrast ratio and 100-percent sRGB colour gamut.
They’ll be powered by up to the Core i7-10510U CPU clocked clocked at 1.8GHz (Turbo up to 4.9GHz), although the base model(s) will ship with the 1.6GHz Core i5-10210U chip (Turbo up to 4.2GHz). The base model(s) will also only have integrated Intel UHD Graphics, while the Nvidia GeForce MX250 will be reserved for more premium variants. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, 2x USB Type-C, 1x USB-A, a 3.5 mm audio socket and a microphone jack. It will also have a 56Wh battery that the company says will be able to play back up to 13 hours of local videos on a single charge.
The i5 models with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will start at 1,499 Euros (~$1,600 / Rs. 1,15,000), while the i7 variants with the same config have been priced starting at 1999 Euros (~$2,100 / Rs. 1,55,000). They will be available for purchase in Europe from April. Huawei also announced that its MateBook D 14 and MateBook D 15 laptops, which were launched last November in China, will soon come to Europe, but pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
