Marvel Rivals Season 7 Early Patch Notes
Marvel Rivals Season 7 drops on March 20 at 9 AM UTC. Ahead of the full patch notes carrying every single change, we’ve listed all the new content you can look forward to seeing below:
New Hero

Season 7 will see the debut of White Fox as a new hero. She joins the Marvel Rivals roster as a Strategist, capable of healing teammates and dishing out damage using her martial arts know-how. In combat, White Fox uses Yeowoo Guseul (Fox Marbles) to heal allies and damage enemies. She also has a partial transformation ability that turns her into a fox and lets you quickly navigate around the battlefield.
While playing as the character, you’ll constantly accumulate Kumiho energy, which can then be unleashed to buff teammates and charm enemies. Lastly, her Ultimate attack sees the reveal of her full nine-tailed form, where she can tear through enemies using her claws, heal nearby allies, and even grant them Lifesteal bonuses.
New Map
Lower Manhattan is a new Convergence map joining Marvel Rivals in Season 7. It captures the aftermath of an assault from 2099’s Alchemax Corporation, which aims to transform entire neighbourhoods into their futuristic counterparts. This part of New York has been locked down to prevent further corruption, so expect to see a very different version of the city. The Lower Manhattan map will be added to the game after the April 2 update.
On the subject of maps, the fan-favorite Shin-Shibuya map will return to the Competitive map pool in Season 7.
Times Square Updates

In Season 6.5, the Times Square hub became the only map to receive a Photo Mode in Marvel Rivals. The devs are now improving the storage system for your photos by introducing Albums that can permanently store your memories. You can also share Albums with other players, earning likes and interactions in the process.
On top of this, Times Square will host an “April Pool’s Day” celebration, where players can earn the Jeff’s Rodeo emote for free. To get it, simply log in to the game between April 1st and April 3rd.
New Team-Up Abilities

Two new team-ups are coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 7. The first sees Luna Snow and White Fox combine for some charming deception, while the other features Adam Warlock and Storm, giving the former a charged trail that heals allies. Here’s an overview of both team-ups:
- Blessing of the Kumiho: When teamed up with White Fox, Luna Snow can launch a spirit fox in a straight line, healing allies as well as damaging and charming enemies, causing them to briefly walk towards her. After using this ability, Luna gains a movement speed boost.
- Cosmic Cyclone: With Storm at his side, Adam Warlock leaves behind a trail of charged energy that heals and speeds up allies who pass through it after activating Soaring Surge. His own movement speed while flying is also increased.
As for changes to existing Rivals team-ups, both Jeff-Nado and Duality Dance are being retired for the time being.
Ultimate Energy Nerfs
To reduce the reliance and constant spamming of Ultimate abilities, Netease is reducing the overall energy gain rates by 20% for all heroes. While every role will receive a 20% overall reduction, the tuning for these decreases will be slightly different depending on the character.
For Vanguards and Duelists, damage to energy conversion will be reduced more, while passive energy regen will be reduced less. For Strategists, damage and healing to energy conversion will be reduced less while passive energy regen will be reduced more.
Hero Balancing Changes
The Season 7 update will bring buffs for Hulk, Blade, Black Panther, Duelist Deadpool, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, and Luna Snow. In contrast, Winter Soldier, Elsa Bloodstone, Doctor Strange, Vanguard Deadpool, and Gambit will be nerfed. Furthermore, Emma Frost, Magik, Gambit, and Invisible Woman will receive tuning changes to match the updated combat environment.
Ranked Adjustments
In the Competitive mode, bans per team are being increased from 2 to 3, and each ban phase will now be shorter. Additionally, Placement Matches will now use personal performance as a factor. After you finish all 10 matches, the system will evaluate your performance and adjust your starting rank accordingly. Good performance results in a bonus, while poor performance sees a downgrade. In both cases, the movement will be restricted to one division.
New Accessories and Costumes

New Accessories for White Fox, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Mister Fantastic, Ultron, Adam Warlock, Peni Parker, Venom, Hulk, and Elsa Bloodstone will be released during Marvel Rivals Season 7. The devs have also announced three new costumes, including:
- “Odinforce” Ultron
- “Marauder Marksman” The Punisher
- “Yoon Ji-Woo” White Fox
White Fox’s new skin is a standout since it brings customization features to the mix. You’ll be able to change her accessories and even pick between different appearances for her Kumiho Form.
