Bungie’s much-awaited extraction shooter Marathon, is just under a week away from its full launch as its free-to-play Server Slam is currently underway. Players have been enjoying their runs as Runners on Tau Ceti IV across two available maps in its current open beta phase.
As players fare out in the Perimeter and Dire Marsh maps to scavenge loot and eliminate UESC reinforcements, while keeping an eye out for other players, they may come across rare items and resources that may seem confusing at first, but are extremely important in the greater missions. One of those items in Marathon is Prestige Key, and if you found one during one of your runs, here’s how to use it, and if you haven’t, here’s where you can find one.
Where to Find Marathon Prestige Key in Server Slam?
In Marathon, the Gold Prestige Key, also known as the Prestige Key, can be found in the Perimeter map during the Server Slam. While you cannot get the key just lying around, you’ll need to find a UESC Commander and eliminate them, as they are the ones carrying this rare item and drop it once they’re eliminated.
You can easily find a UESC Commander in the Perimeter map near the Station POI guarding the Lock Box. Once you reach there, rally your squad and break the shields of the commander from a distance and eliminate any troops closing in on your location. Watch out for other players as well, who may be looking for this rare resource or completing any Faction Contracts in the match.
As soon as the commander is eliminated, grab the key and store it in your backpack, and exfil immediately. Upon a successful exfil run, store the Prestige Key in your vault or sell it for 2000 Credits, your call.
How to Use Marathon Prestige Key
The Prestige Key in Marathon can only be used in the endgame map called Cryo Archive, which hasn’t been revealed yet. So far, we’re currently unaware of how the key will be used on the map.
However, if you found it during the server slam, it’s best if you sell it off for some credits and buy better weapons from the armory. We’ll keep this section updated once the real use of the Gold Prestige Key is revealed during the endgame.
