The Blacksmith’s Son quest is part of Tachov’s Blacksmith questline, one of the sub-questlines for the Wedding Crashers quest. This mission takes place in Tachov, where you can start by meeting with the Tachov Blacksmith Radovan. This quest also works as a tutorial for Blacksmithing in KCD 2, making it quite necessary to complete, even if you don’t plan to enter the wedding alongside Radovan. Want to know how to go about it? Blacksmith’s Son Part 1: Find Materials and Start Forging
Your first task is to get all the materials ready to craft the Hunter’s sword in KCD 2. Follow the steps below to do so:
- Open the chest in the Smithy and look for the materials inside.
- Here, you can take all the materials without any worry.
- Now, move to the Anvil and start Blacksmithing.
- Choose the Hunting Sword from the recipe book and press E to start crafting.
Blacksmith’s Son Quest Part 2: Craft a Hunting Sword
Next, you will need to forge a Hunting Sword properly. Check out our how to craft weapons in KCD 2 guide for a detailed understanding of Forging. Here, I will just explain the steps needed to be done during this quest:
- Put the workpiece into the furnace and heat it. Inspect the metal after it becomes bright yellow to see whether it has sparks flying from it or not.
- Move the workpiece around to heat it evenly. After you have done so, move to the Anvil.
- Move the hammer from left to right on top of the workpiece. Hit the workpiece from the tip to the hilt, hitting one strike next to the other. You are doing it correctly if you see sparks flying and hear the ‘ting’ sound.
- Turn the workpiece mid-way and start hitting the other side in a similar fashion.
- Return to the Furnace once the workpiece cools down and heat it evenly.
- Bring it back to the anvil and continue hitting it until it molds into a sword-like shape. To craft faster, try hitting with the beat of the whistle.
- Quench and Finish to complete the Hunting Sword.
- Speak with the Blacksmith Radovan and expend all the dialogues to complete the quest.
