Is GTA 6 Region Locked on Xbox?
No, GTA 6 is not region-locked on Xbox Series X|S. After clarification from Rockstar Games regarding GTA 6 pre-order rollouts, it is now confirmed that Xbox players will not face regional restrictions when trying to play physical or digital editions on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
This means that players can purchase an Xbox redemption code for GTA 6 from a retailer in one country and redeem it on their Xbox account in another, regardless of where they are in the world. However, this lack of region-locked content is specific to Xbox.
On the other hand, Rockstar has imposed region-locking for GTA 6 on PlayStation 5. This is due to how the PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts handle network restrictions around the world.
PSN download codes for GTA 6 are heavily region-locked and split into specific territories like North America, the UK, and others. If players purchase a PS5 code for the game outside of their account’s registered country, there is a very good chance that the code will become unusable.
