Invincible features a diverse cast and multiple characters that are loved and celebrated. However, one of the characters, Donald, deserves to be talked about more than he is. He is the only character after Cecil who is willing to give his all for the greater good and those who have watched Seasons 1 and 2 of Invincible, know that he has done it more than once. Adapted from Robert Kirkman’s Invincible comics, Donald has been a series regular so let’s talk all about him and we could expect to see Donald go through in Invincible Season 3.
How Did Donald Survive in Invincible?
Donald made his first appearance in Invincible Season 1 Episode 2 where he was assigned the task of escorting Mark and Debby to a GDA facility where Nolan has been receiving medical care. This season featured the investigation into the murder of the Guardians of The Globe by an unknown assailant. However, Cecil had his suspicions on Omni-Man which eventually turned out to be true. Donald was deployed in a safehouse near Omni-Man’s house to keep a close eye on his activities.
However, in episode 7, Nolan figured it out and took down the safehouse and in his final moments of heroism, Donald set off a highly explosive device in hopes of taking down Omni-Man sadly, Omni-Man walked away with no injuries but Donald seemingly killed by the explosion.
In Invincible Season 2, the audience is taken by surprise when we see that Donald is still at the GDA and is continuing to work with Cecil. This mystery remains for a while but gradually, Donald figures out that he did die and was resurrected as a cyborg by the GDA. This made Donald upset and eventually, Cecil told him that it was Donald’s own decision to be resurrected and he has died 39 times so far. Knowing the truth, Donald finally makes peace with it and continues to work with the GDA.
Is Donald in Invincible Comics?
Yes, Donald is an integral part of Invincible Comics and the way he is portrayed in the series bears a close resemblance to what we see in the comics. Invincible Comics tells us that Donald was a human working under Cecil but was killed. However, using D.A. Sinclair’s tech, Cecil was able to revive Donald. In the comics, Donald has a more robotic appearance as compared to the series, and since being a cyborg made him pretty strong as well, Donald engaged in a lot of combat scenarios as well, which is quite contrary to the version of him we have seen in the Invincible series.
Does Donald Have Powers in Invincible?
While we have not seen Donald having powers in the Invincible TV show, he is fairly powerful in the comics. In Invincible Comics, Donald is a cyborg with a mechanical body. He is also capable of turning his arms into weapons to shoot energy blasts. In comics, Donald can fly and also has enhanced durability.

What Could Happen to Donald in Invincible Season 3?
Since Donald has made peace with his Cyborg persona, there is a possibility that he might start using his full potential and engage in combat more often than he did in Seasons 1 and 2. We also know that Invincible Season 3 will feature a much more inclusive role of the Reanimen and there is a possibility that Donald could turn out to be their leader since Cecil trusts Donald the most. What I look forward to the most is to see Donald’s stand in Mark and Cecil’s feud that will unravel in season 3.
