Idea Cellular recently announced the roll out of its 4G VoLTE service to its subscribers in six major circles across the country. The company had previously rolled out its VoLTE services for employees in four circles in March and starting from tomorrow the service will be extended to all subscribers and two more circles.
Idea is offering subscribers 10GB of free data as soon as they make their first VoLTE call. Idea is the fourth telecom service provider in the country to offer VoLTE services, trailing behind Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone. Much like the VoLTE services from other providers, Idea’s services will provide HD quality voice calls over 4G/LTE network. The company also promises faster call connection and improved power management for users who opt in for its VoLTE services.
In the first phase of launch, Idea’s VoLTE services will be available in the Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circles. Talking about the launch, Sashi Shankar, CMO Idea Cellular, said:
“The launch of Idea VoLTE is testimony to our commitment to digitally connect customers, and a major milestone in Idea’s mobility journey. We aim to provide a better and richer call quality experience to our customers through this revolutionary new technology.”
Along with the VoLTE launch, Idea has also partnered with a number of smartphone manufacturers to distribute VoLTE supported devices through its outlets. Idea’s VoLTE services will require users to get a supported device and an Idea 4G SIM, users who already have all the prerequisites will be upgraded to the service automatically.
