Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure was first released in 2012. Its flamboyant character designs and bold storytelling instantly grabbed a lot of attention from global anime fanatics. The series introduced us to the Joestar family, which has fought supernatural enemies for generations.

The first season adapts the first two parts of the manga, i.e. the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency arcs. The former sees the battle between Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando. Dio cunningly becomes the adoptive brother of Jonathan and makes a plan to kill him to become the sole owner of the Joestar empire. You’ll have to watch the anime to find out who emerges as the victor.

In the Battle Tendency, Jonathan’s grandson, Joseph Joestar, is seen as the primary character. He uses his Hamon technique against the ancient Pillar Men, and their leader Kars, as he was the one who created the mask that contributed to Dio’s vampire transformation.

The one whom Jonathan defeats in the first part returns in Stardust Crusaders. He is now way more powerful than he has ever been. Dio uses Jonathan’s lifeless body and then attaches his own head to it. However, this time, it’s the turn of Joseph’s grandson, Jotaro Kujo, to fight against the evil forces of the mighty villain.

Initially, Dio’s vampiric abilities overpower Jotaro, Joseph, and their allies. He even kills Joseph, who is revived by Jotaro later in the story. This season brings Stands into the picture and allows us to witness Jotaro’s awakening.

The artifact that helped Dio to manifest the Stands reappears in Japan’s Morioh town. So, Jotaro Kujo arrives there to find the antique that can transform anyone into a Stand. He crosses paths with a high schooler named Josuke Higashikata, who possesses the Crazy Diamond that gives him the ability to heal anyone.

Josuke eventually turns out to be Joseph’s illegitimate son, bearing the responsibility to fight the supernatural threat that looms over his hometown.

This season, Giorno Giovanna, Dio’s son, is in the lead role. Now, you must wonder how the son of a villain can take the Joestar family’s legacy forward. Well, here’s the kicker — Giorno was born when Dio used Jonathan’s body to return from death.

So, he is, to be precise, the son of Dio and Jonathan, which makes him a Jojo. However, unlike Dio, he chooses good over evil and becomes determined to take down the criminal organization Passione.

Pucci does everything he can to fulfill the promise he made to Dio years ago, but he must kill Jolyne to accomplish his goal.
