Players have been enjoying Marathon ever since its recent full launch, allowing players to explore the planet of Tau Ceti IV while uncovering mysteries about what happened to the UESC Marathon and New Cascadia Colony. At launch, Marathon featured a total of 3 maps for players and now, thanks to the efforts of the community, Marathon players can jump into the Cryo Archive map, the first endgame “raid-like” zone in the game.

What Do You Need to Unlock Marathon Cryo Archive Map?
The Cry Archive map will only show up as “>://REDACTED” on the Marathon maps selection screen. To unlock the map, your Runner needs to meet these two specific requirements:
- Reach Season Level 25
- Unlock all factions
Much like the Outpost map, which requires your Marathon Runner to be level 12 before they can play on it, the Cryo Archive map is gated behind a level 25 requirement. While this might seem like a big requirement, it makes sense that Bungie wants to reserve this zone for the best of the best. Cryo Archive will feature a ton of rare and powerful loot, so players will have to grind to level 25 before they can explore and loot this endgame zone.
Apart from the level requirement, players will also need to establish a connection with all Marathon factions. This means you need to complete Liaison Contracts for each Faction as part of the CyberAcme faction contracts. There are a total of 6 factions in Marathon, and you need to unlock all of these before you can step into the Cryo Archive map. These are all the factions in the game:
- CyberAcme
- Arachne
- MIDA
- NuCaloric
- Sekiguchi Genetics
- Tracus OffWorld Industries
It is important to remember that you do not have to maximize or even complete a single contract from each faction to unlock the Cryo Archive map in Marathon. You simply need to unlock them to access the endgame zone.
