How to Train Your Dragon is returning soon with its fourth movie, and we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming live-action. Even though the film will retell the story of the first How to Train Your Dragon movie, everyone is still thrilled to see this fantastic story coming to life in the form of a live-action. 1. Mason Thames as Hiccup Horrendous

Hiccup is the lead character in the How To Train Your Dragon franchise. He is the innovative son of the former Hooligan Chief Stoick the Vast. Hiccup is a compassionate boy who is often seen as a nuisance by the people around him. That’s because he was more inclined toward inventing machines instead of hunting dragons. However, one day, he encounters a Night Fury dragon, Toothless, but instead of killing him, the boy befriends him. Hiccup also manages to end the long-lasting enmity between the Vikings and the Dragons.

In the animated film, Hiccup was voiced by Jay Baruchel, and in the upcoming film, we will see the American actor Mason Thames stepping into the shoes of the prominent character. The actor has previously blessed the industry with several amazing projects, but he is mainly recognized for his work in the 2021 horror film The Black Phone.

2. Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast

Stoick the Vast is Hiccup’s father, who is also the leader of the Vikings. He doesn’t have any love for his son as he thinks that Hiccup is good for nothing. Like every other Viking, he also believes his son to be a nuisance. In the first two films, Stoick is seen riding two different dragons, and he also sacrifices himself to protect his son in the second film. That was the only instance that proved Stoick’s love for his son.

Gerard James Butler is a 55-year-old Scottish actor who lent his voice to Stoick in the animated film. The actor will now return to play the same character in How to Train Your Dragon 4. Fans remember him for his appearances in Dracula, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Tale of the Mummy.

3. Nico Parker as Astrid Hofferson

Astrid Hofferson is a significant part of the Hooligan tribe. She serves as a potent warrior and has a strong personality. As the story of How to Train Your Dragon moves forward, Astrid and Hiccup develop a romantic relationship, and eventually, the duo get married.

The English actor Nico Parker portrays Astrid in How to Train Your Dragon 4. The actress gained worldwide recognition after appearing in the brief role of Sarah Miller in The Last of Us Season 1.

4. Julian Dennison as Fishlegs Ingerman

Here’s someone who is one of the biggest alliances of Hiccup. Julian is the best friend of our protagonist. He is clumsy and cowardly, but he also overcomes her fear whenever his friends or family are in danger.

Do you remember Rusty from Deadpool 2? Julian Dennison, who will be seen as Fishlegs Ingerman in How to Train Your Dragon 4 cast, was the one to portray him in the Superhero film. Besides that, Julian also appeared in Godzilla X Kong as Josh Valentine, and the boy also portrayed the lead character in the 2023 coming-of-age film Uproar.

5. Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch

Gobber the Belch is an old friend of Hiccup’s father. He is the teacher to the Viking teens and teaches them to hunt and train the dragons. He is also someone who helps the teens of the village to hone their sword-fighting skills.

The beloved actor and comedian Nick Frost will be seen as Gobber the Belch in How to Train Your Dragon 4. He has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including Doctor Who and Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob, Tomb Raider, and more.

6. Gabriel Howell as Snotlout Jorgenson

Snotlot is a significant character in the franchise. He is Hiccup’s cousin, who is more like a rival to the boy. One of the biggest reasons for this enmity is Astrid as both the boys have a huge crush on the Viking warrior. However, the second film sees Snotlout making peace with the fact that Astrid and Hiccup are made for each other.

Gabriel Howell portrays the character in the film. The actor gained immense popularity after appearing in the critically acclaimed TV show Bodies, which was released in 2023. Apart from that, he also appeared in the mini-series Nightsleeper in 2024.
