Like any Capcom title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword has multiple puzzles throughout Miyamoto Musashi’s journey to stop the Malice from spreading across Kyoto. While fairly straightforward, the Mask puzzle is one of the more confusing puzzles in Chapter 11, “What Lurks in the Shadows,” where Musashi explores Nijo-jo Castle in search of Okuni’s friend, Hinagiku. So, here’s how to solve the Onimusha: Way of the Sword Mask puzzle.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Mask Puzzle Solution Explained
The mask puzzle in Onimusha: Way of the Sword appears after Dyoko sends you on a hunt to find one of the keys to the Underground Laboratory Door. You’ll come across it after opening two doors held shut by red strings, shortly after finding the Level Three Spirit Mirror, as shown in the image above.
When you enter the puzzle area, you’ll find four masks hanging from the ceiling by threads. The same four masks are also displayed on the walls on either side of the entrance, lit up by four spotlights from above. To solve the puzzle, you need to fire arrows in a specific order to remove the Unsettling Mask ahead.
Figuring out the masks’ order is easy. Walk out the entrance and examine the masks’ shadows on the wall. You’ll notice that each mask has a specific number of holes. Count the holes to find out the masks’ order, then fire your arrows accordingly. If you’re still confused, here’s the correct order to solve the Onimusha: Way of the Sword Mask puzzle:
