Due to the sheer number of available skills, you’re likely to respec your Vault Hunter multiple times in Borderlands 4. This is something franchise veterans will be familiar with, since testing out new builds and character skills is a central element of the experience. That said, respecing is no longer tied to the Quick Change machines, which can be confusing for some players. On that note, here’s how to respec skill points in Borderlands 4.

How to Respec in Borderlands 4

To respec your Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4, you’ll need to find and unlock Respec Machines. You’ll unlock your first Respec Machine by completing the ‘Down and Outbound’ quest. More machines will be unlocked as you progress through the main story and visit some of the larger safehouses or Faction HQs.

Every character respec will cost you money, and the amount scales according to the size of your wallet and your character level. Respecing Specializations, which are advanced endgame abilities, requires Eridium.

You’ll have to pay up every single time you decide to use the machine. But after making the payment, you’re free to select and refund skills endlessly, until you commit to the build and exit the screen.
