In Short
  • Crimson Desert's money farming activities include diamond mining, bounty hunting, selling livestock, and more.
  • You can also make a decent profit by competing in minigames and gambling.
  • The best way to farm Silver in Crimson Desert is by robbing the Hernand Bank.

The continent of Pywel is brimming with opportunities, especially if your Kliff is a ne’er-do-well interested in coin and coin only. While our brooding hero’s main objective is to reunite his Greymane compatriots, he could always do with an extra bit of money to make his adventures easier. With this in mind, we’ve put together a guide on the best activities to make money fast in Crimson Desert.

Crimson Desert: Money and Currencies Explained

Just like everything else in the game, Crimson Desert has gone overboard with its currency. The game features three different kinds of money, namely Copper, Silver, and Gold Bars. The primary currency that you need to be concerned with is Silver. However, the early Crimson Desert quests will reward you with Copper, which is essentially like pennies. Here’s a quick look at the values of each denomination to give you a clear idea of the money system:

  • 100 Copper is equal to 1 Silver
  • 500 Silver is equal to 1 Gold Bar
  • Silver is the main currency in Crimson Desert

While Gold Bars are technically the most valuable currency type in the game, you can’t actually use them to pay. You can only invest in these items at the Bank, and then sell them in exchange for Silver.

How to Make Money Quickly in Crimson Desert

There’s no shortage of money-making activities in Crimson Desert, but if you’re looking for the fastest ways to get rich, check out the methods listed below:

Capture and Sell Livestock

Walk into any of the quaint towns and cities on the Crimson Desert map, and you’ll be greeted by all manner of livestock. From goats and sheep to chickens and cows, every animal can be abducted by Kliff and sold for a nifty profit. To get started, simply chase down an animal and long-press the carry input to lift them up. Now, travel to the Livestock Black Market vendor in southwest Hernand to sell it for a decent sum of Silver.

Collect Bounties

While exploring the Hernand region, you’ll frequently come across posters with wanted criminals, also known as bounty quests. Your very first bounty will be a character named Jeffrey, and after bringing him to justice, you’ll be free to explore Pywel and find other such missions. What makes this activity great for making money quickly is that the missions are pretty straightforward, and the payouts are quite decent as well.

To get an idea of how bounties work, check out our guides on the Blix bounty mission and the Bianca bounty mission in Crimson Desert. Furthermore, here’s a look at the Silver rewards for every bounty:

Farm Enemies and Sell Loot

The core combat is arguably the most entertaining part of Crimson Desert. It’s something that you’ll engage with constantly, so why not make some money off your killing sprees? To get started, look for enemy mobs, commonly found in the southern Hernand, and hunt down as many bandits as possible. You’ll now be able to loot Masks and Coin Purses off their bodies.

Masks can be sold at shops for a nice profit, while Coin Purses are literally bundles of money waiting to be claimed in your inventory. To kick things up a notch, you can farm enemies in the areas surrounding Fort Perwin. Here, you can loot dozens upon dozens of masks to make money fast in Crimson Desert.

Play Minigames and Gamble

Crimson Desert has many minigames that are excellent for making money quickly. You’ll have to explore quite a bit to unlock them, but once discovered, you can reliably farm them for currency. Here’s every minigame and gambling activity in Crimson Desert:

  • Duo (Gambling): A poker-like game where players are dealt five sticks and must combine three of them to sum to 10, 20, or 30. The remaining two sticks form the “Duo” hand strength.
  • Five-Card (Gambling): A more complex version of Duo found in the northern village of Beighen. The buy-in itself is 150 Silver, and it incorporates card colors (red and yellow) into hand rankings. If you have a Perfect Nine hand, go all-in. In most cases, opponents will call your bet even if they have a weak hand.
  • Arm Wrestling: A button-mashing minigame that includes Quick-Time Events (QTEs). You first encounter arm wrestling in the Hernand Tavern during the Chapter 1 quest “Where Rumors Gather.”
  • Archery Contests: Repeatable skill tests where you shoot targets for profit. A prominent contest is located north of Hernand.
  • Duels: Unarmed duels, wrestling matches, and spear duels can be found all throughout Hernand.

Mine Diamonds

You can start mining ore right after receiving a Pickaxe in Crimson Desert during the “Rhett’s Request” side mission. Take this Pickaxe to the Hernand Highlands Cavern, located just west of the location of the Hornsplitter boss fight.

Here you will find a Diamond Mine, where you can nab 11 Diamonds and sell them for a total of 25 Silver. While this is a great starting point, keep your eyes open for any other mining opportunities while exploring the open world.

Best Money Farming Method in Crimson Desert

So far, the methods we’ve discussed are great for making money fast in Crimson Desert, but you’ll have to repeat these activities multiple times to get rich. If you’re looking for a one-and-done method that’ll fill your coffers to the brim, we recommend raiding the Bank.

Right after arriving in Hernand town, go to the north side, and you’ll see a lavish stone building with multiple guards standing outside. Before beginning the raid, we recommend familiarizing yourself with Crimson Desert’s stealing and pickpocketing mechanics. Moreover, make sure you have a generic “Key” item in your inventory. If not, you can purchase it from the Back Alley Vendor southeast of Hernand.

Here’s how you can rob the Bank in Crimson Desert:

  • Enter the Bank through the main door.
  • Unlock the door to your left using the Key. Make sure it is closed after you pass through it.
  • Loot the Strongboxes on the shelves as well as the chests on the ground.
  • Wait for the Crime meter to disappear before leaving the Strongbox room.
  • After exiting the bank, open your inventory and unwrap the looted items to get anywhere from 30-50 Silver.

Once your first heist is done, you’ll need to wait three in-game days for the chests to refresh. Feel free to double-dip once that amount of time has passed.
