Ever since it was first added, the Mythic Goldfish has been more of a trophy item than anything, given its 0.04% spawn rate in the game. This means that it is incredibly tough to find. You can catch the Mythic Goldfish in any body of water, even without the Fishing Holes. However, your odds are greatly increased if you fish at a fishing hole or even one of the Golden Fishing Spots.
While a standard Fishing Rod works, try to look for a Pro Fishing Rod to have an increased chance at powerful loot. You can get a Pro Fishing Rod from the fishing barrels.
