How to Get a Horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In Short
  • After Henry and Hans Capon's entourage is attacked on their way to Traskowitz, Henry's horse Pebbles can be found in Semine.
  • Speak with the Groom Ballatay in Semine to get back Pebbles, either by passing a skill check or purchasing her.
  • Semine is located southwest of Traskowitz, and this is where the wedding will take place during the Wedding Crashers mission.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 starts strong with Henry traveling to Troskowitz on his trusted horse, Pebbles. However, they face inevitable setbacks on the way, and Henry loses his horse. As such, the first thing every KCD 2 player must do is find their horse. Unfortunately, finding your horse can be very hard on such a big map. Let’s make it easier by showing you how to find your horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

How to Get Your Horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Horses are quite expensive in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, especially when you are starting from scratch. The easiest way to get a horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is to find Pebbles. Follow the steps below to find your trusty companion.

1. Head to Semine

The first thing you need to do is head to Semine. This village is located southwest of Troskowitz. You can head over there directly, or the mission ‘The Jaunt’ will take you to this village, which is part of the Black Smith quest chain for the main quest for the Wedding Crashers. Heading to Semine is pretty simple: take the southwest road from Troskowitz until you reach Semine.

2. Find Pebbles in Semine

After reaching Semine, enter through the front gate and head towards the far end until you reach the Horse Trader area. Here, you will find multiple horses grazing the grass. Among the horses, you will find Pebbles. Interact with Pebbles to confirm her to be your horse. Now look for Groom Ballatay and speak with him to get Pebbles back.

3. Free Pebbles in Semine

Speak with Groom Ballatay and select the ‘Pebbles!‘ dialogue option. The groom boy will argue that he bought the horse fairly and she hasn’t been branded. Next, choose the ‘I rode in on her from Rattay!’ option.

You will now need to pass a skill check to free Pebbles. I chose the ‘Be reasonable‘ option, and Henry passed the skill check to obtain the horse for free. However, if you miss the skill check, you must buy her at the requested price. Thankfully, the price is much lower than other horses in the area.

How to Summon Your Horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

After you get Pebbles back using the above steps, you can summon her anytime and anywhere. To summon Pebbles, all you need to do is whistle. To whistle, press the ‘X‘ key for PC players. Once you whistle, look around to find Pebbles trotting towards you. Now, mount Pebbles using the ‘E‘ key and travel much faster in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

If you don’t see Pebbles coming towards you after whistling, try whistling a few more times or move away from you’re standing and then whistle. Do note that your horse won’t listen to your whistle if it recently ran away after getting attacked.

How to Buy Horses in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

After you have found Pebbles in KCD 2, you can buy other horses and replace them with Pebbles. To buy other horses, look for Horse traders around the map, one of them in Semine as well. Each horse trader sells different horses, and they will all ask you first to inspect the horse you want to purchase and then tell it to them.

Inspect the Horses for sale by pressing ‘X‘ near them. Here, you will get a direct comparison between the horse you are inspecting and the horse you currently own. Remember the name of the horse you want to purchase and tell that to the Horse trader.

Pay for the Horse, and the Horse will replace the one you currently have. Every item the previous horse had would also be transferred to the new Horse.

And that’s how you can get a horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Still can’t find pebbles or buy a new one? Ask your questions in the comments below.
