Fortnite loves giving out free cosmetics to hype up its players regularly. Whether it’s via Item Shop deals or tournament wins, there’s always a way to flex cool gear. Now, Epic is rolling out another Fortnite free Axe of Champions Pickaxe, and you can score it easily.
How to Claim Free Axe of Champions in Fortnite
To celebrate Champions Road and the 2025 Fortnite Global Championship, Epic is hosting two Axe of Champions tournaments: a mobile-only Blitz Cup and an all-platform Solo Cup, both happening Saturday, August 30, 2025. These tournaments will let you earn the Axe of Champions pickaxe for free in Fortnite before it hits the item shop. The top players in all regions will be awarded the piackaxe for free.
Both tournaments will be solo, so make sure you are prepared for some sweaty action in the lobby. There will be ten matches in a three-hour time window. As the game will run on the latest meta, make sure you know about the latest Fortnite weapons and how they work. Practice before you jump into action.
To be eligible for the tournament, players must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and have MFA enabled. If you want to know the session time, just go to your competitive tab and look for the session slot.
While the Axe of Champions pickaxe is only for the top players, there is something for decent performers as well. All players who earn at least eight points will also receive the Axe of Champions Spray. In case you miss out on being the top player in your region, don’t get disappointed. As I said before, Axe of Champions Pickaxe hits the shop on September 4, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET.
