How to Get Dragon Mount in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is filled with jaw-dropping sights, but there’s nothing quite like seeing a Dragon for the first time. These mythic creatures are recreated with incredible detail in Pearl Abyss’s action-adventure game, and you can even ride them through the skies of Pywel. If you cannot wait to tame these scaly creatures, here’s how you can get the Dragon Mount in Crimson Desert.

How to Unlock Dragon in Crimson Desert

You’ll get the Dragon mount as part of the “Foreboding Shadows: Whispers in the Wind” main story quest in Crimson Desert. This will require at least 50+ hours of progression, so you can consider it a late-game item. The quest unlocks in Chapter 11, and it will allow you to mount and ride the Blackstar Dragon.

This won’t be your first meeting with Blackstar, as you’ll come across the creature twice during Chapter 9. But it won’t be until the Whispers in the Wild quest that you’ll finally get a chance to ride it. While there are many other mounts in Crimson Desert, there are only a handful of Dragons in the game.

How to Ride a Dragon in Crimson Desert

Just like your initial experience with Crimson Desert’s flight skill, the first time you ride the Dragon mount can be pretty awkward. Below, you’ll find some tips and instructions to help you become a dragon master in no time:

• Hold the H key or hold down on the D-pad and select the Dragon using the right stick to summon the mount.
• Dragon mounts will only be active for 15 minutes (real time), after which they’ll go on a 50-minute cooldown.
• While riding a Dragon, you can shoot fireballs that drain stamina.
• Dragons can do a barrel roll if you press the Dodge input.
• Dragons can fly anywhere, including high up in the sky to the Abyss.

While the Blackstar is almost guaranteed to be the first Dragon mount you get in Crimson Desert, there are a total of five such creatures in the game. We’ve listed their names below:
