Honkai Star Rail Demiurge Meaning Explained

Honkai Star Rail 3.6 revealed a ton of details on the inner mechanics of Amphoreus. One of the new things mentioned was Demiurge, the thirteenth titan. This was previously not mentioned in the storyline, and its mention may change everything in the final act of Amphoreus. So, does Demiurge mean in Honkai Star Rail? Here is a quick guide on HSR Demiurge’s meaning.

What Does Demiurge Mean in Honkai Star Rail?

Demiurge is the thirteenth Titan of Amphoreus and is also mentioned as the first Nouspore by Evernight. A lot of unfamiliar information, correct? Let’s break them down one by one.

First Nouspore

The Nouspore would be a very unfamiliar term for most Honkai Star Rail players, unless they are as dedicated to the lore as me. We know that the Grave of Epiphany has a school for studying Nousporism, which is the study of specializing in the transformation and ascension of life and matter.

The first Nouspore may refer to the person who established this school of study in Amphoreus, before the existence of the First Scholar Thalesus. Or, it might mean the first being in Amphoreus that ascended as the Titan.

The Thirteenth Titan of Amphoreus

In Honkai Star Rail 3.6, Demiurge is first mentioned by Anaxagorus to Lygus, as he finds the name hidden away in the Genius’s memory. Later, we learn about the same name deep inside the tomb of the hidden thirteenth Titan in Amphoreus. We have known the existence of twelve Titans in Amphoreus, but this is the first mention we get of a Thirteenth Titan.

It was this Titan’s tomb that was “cradled in the power of Remembrance”, where Cyrene sacrificed herself over and over to continue the cycle of Amphoreus. However, Lygus later reveals that Demiurge never existed, as he killed it before the extrapolations of Amphoreus started. According to Lygus, he only made the Amphoreus Scepter believe that the thirteenth Titan existed, when in actuality it was already dead.

We also hear from Evernight that the tomb of Demiurge has been empty, and that Fuli had lied to Cyrene, making her think that she was special.

So, we can surmise that Demiurge was the thirteenth Titan of Amphoreus before Zandar One Kuwabara, or Lygus, decided to start the extrapolations for the revival of Irontomb. During this time, Zandar killed Demiurge and made the Sceptor believe it existed to keep it functioning.

Now, why did Zandar go to such lengths for this Thirteenth Titan? The answer is clear; Demiurge was a threat to his plans. Zandar mentions that the life form called Demiurge was excluded from the extrapolations from the very beginning to make a complete Irontomb, without a head. So, it can be surmised that the Demiurge is the mind behind Amphoreus, and removing it gave Lygus complete access to the Sceptor, and later to Irontomb itself.

Who is Demiurge in HSR?

The existence of the thirteenth Titan has not been revealed. But we can make an educated guess out of the information we already have in our hands.

In my opinion, Cyrene is the Demiurge, the thirteenth Titan of Amphoreus. This would explain Demiurge’s ties to Remembrance, as well as to Cyrene. Furthermore, this also answers why Cyrene was able to rewrite the laws of Amphoreus, making it stuck in a loop of endless extrapolations.

Now, when I say Cyrene, I mean her original form that was revealed in the Honkai Star Rail 3.7 drip marketing. But why does Zandar not realize who Cyrene is in Amphoreus, you ask?

My best guess is that Cyrene wiped her existence from the memory of Amphoreus, including Zandar’s head. If she is an Emanator of Remembrance, or a Pure Child of Anāsrava, then she is more than capable of pulling such a stunt.
