HSR Ashveil Build
Ashveil is the latest follow-up DPS who is on the Honkai Star Rail 4.1 banner. He is incredibly strong with massive damage output and incredible defense-reducing capabilities. But all of his abilities can turn useless if you are not using the correct build. Here is the best Ashveil build that you must use to get the best out of him.
Type Information Light Cone The Finale of a Lie Relic The Ashblazing Grand Duke Planar Ornament City of Converging Stars Main Stats Body: Crit Rate %

HSR Ashveil Light Cones
- The Finale of a Lie
- Baptism of Pure Thought
- The Hell Where Ideals Burn
- Worrisom Blissful
- Cruising in the Stellar Sea
- Only Silence Remains
- Swordplay
- See you at the End
Ashveil has some great options for his Light Cone. The Finale of a Lie obviously takes the top spot, being his signature Light Cone. This Light Cone gives a massive Crit Rate and ATK% buff, alongside increasing damage taken by all enemies by 20%.
For the 5-star alternatives, the Baptism of Pure Thought and Worrisom Blissful are both amazing options for Ashveil. If you have The Hell Where Ideals Burn, which is Archer’s signature Light Cone, then you can also use that while having Sparkle in the game. Without Sparkle, this Light Cone won’t be a good option for Ashveil.
When it comes to 4-star options, ‘Only Silence Remains’, ‘Swordplay’, and ‘See you at the End’ all provide similar numbers. The 5-star Herta Store Light Cone, ‘Cruising in the Stellar Sea’, can also be a good option.
HSR Ashveil Relics
- The Ashblazing Grand Duke
- Pioneer Diver of Dead Water
The Ashblazing Grand Duke is a clear favorite for Ashveil’s relics in HSR. It perfectly buffs the follow-up ATK of Ashveil, increasing his damage output by a lot. Pioneer Diver of Dead Water is the only other relic that comes close to the Grand Duke set. However, the difference in numbers is too great for it to be a solid option over the Ashblazing Grand Duke set.
HSR Ashveil Planar Ornaments
- City of Converging Stars
- Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
- The Wondrous BanaAmusement Park
- Inert Saslsotto
- Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm (with other Hunt allies)
Unlike Ashveil’s relic options, his planar ornament options are pretty varied. City of Converging Stars is the perfect planar ornament for Ashveil in teams with good damage-dealing capacity. In teams where Ashveil is the solo damage dealer, you need to instead go for Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves.
Other than that, both ‘The Wondrous BanaAmusement Park’ and ‘Inert Saslsotto’ are great options for Ashveil. When it comes to ‘Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm’, you should only use it with Hunt allies, like Feixiao or Topaz, in the team.
Ashveil Teams
When it comes to Ashveil’s teams, his best allies thus far in the game are Tribbie, Remembrance Trailblazer, and Dan Heng Permansor Terrae. This is also his best team by far, because they are perfectly tuned with each other’s abilities. The sheer quantity of attacks that this team can execute in one round is way beyond any other team in the game, which perfectly works with Ashveil’s kit.
DPS Support / Sub DPS Support Sustain Ashveil RMC Tribbie Dan Heng Permansor Terrae Ashveil Sunday / Sparkle / Tingyun Tribbie / Silver Wolf Dan Heng Permansor Terrae Feixiao Ashveil Robin / Tribbie Dan Heng Permansor Terrae
When it comes to alternatives, Sunday, Sparkle, and Tingyun are good support replacements for RMC, while Silver Wolf is a good replacement for Tribbie in single-target scenarios.
For dual DPS setups, Ashveil perfectly synergizes with Feixiao. Both the DPS characters can consistently trigger each other’s follow-up attacks, making their team highly consistent. For this team, you can choose to use Robin over Tribbie as the support.
For sustains, you can always go for Aventurine or other healers, but Dan Heng Permansor Terrae’s synergy with Ashveil is through the roof. The fact that every player received Dan Heng PT for free makes him a clear choice over every other sustain in the game for Ashveil.

Who is Ashveil in Honkai Star Rail?
Ashveil is one of the most unique Planarcadia characters. He appears as a detective and native of Planarcadia, but that may not be the whole picture. Being the head and ace detective of the Ashen Detective Agency, Ashveil takes on missions ranging from finding lost pets and attending parent-teacher meetings to capturing interstellar wanted criminals.
He is always accompanied by Mr. Narrator, who is a talking monkey. Interestingly, this monkey appears to be the real detective, as we constantly see it do the research and make connections for Ashveil, while our ‘detective’ instinctively assumes random scenarios.
During the 4.0 Trailblazing arc, we constantly see Ashveil meddling in the Trailblazers matters, even reaching into places otherwise impossible for anyone else. The mission showed that Ashveil had a particular interest in stopping the memetic virus, and it seems Mr. Narator was turned into a monkey due to it. This clearly shows a long history between Ashveil and Dr. Primitive in HSR, who is known for the creation of the Memetic virus.
We also often hear Ashveil mention ‘waking up’ as if he had been asleep for a long time. And, I highly doubt that Ashveil is a native to Planarcadia, as Himeko didn’t recognize him at all when meeting for the first time. Yes, knowing everyone in a city can be difficult, but a person of Ashveil’s personality and renown, I highly doubt Himeko wouldn’t have known about him. I guess Ashveil is part of the Galactic Rangers and is staying in Planarcadia to investigate Dr. Primitive or another intergalactic criminal.
HSR Ashveil Kit: Traces and Eidolons
Ashveil is a Follow-up attack DPS character who can do massive single-target damage, while also amplifying Follow-up attack damage for allies and reducing enemy Defences. His release would definitely secure Follow-up attack teams’ future in the meta. Here is a closer look at his kit.
Honkai Star Rail Ashveil Kit Explained
- Scaling: ATK
- Specialty: Follow-up attacks
- Bait: Ashveil’s Skills and Ultimate mark one enemy as bait. When allies attack the bait, Ashveil consumes his 1 Charge to launch a Follow-up ATK. While Bait is on the field, all enemy Def is reduced by 40%. If Bait doesn’t exist on the field, Ashveil marks the enemy with the lowest HP. Only the most recently marked character can be Bait.
- Charge: Ashveil starts the fight with 3 Charges, which can increase to 5 max at a time. He gains 2 Charges after using his Ultimate and 1 Charge after using his Skill.
- Gluttony: Launching his talent Follow-up ATK gives him one stack of Gluttony, stacking up to 12 times. He consumes this stack during his Ultimate to enhance his overall DMG during his attack. Unlocking his A2 ability will allow him to obtain stacks for using his Skill, Ultimate, or for killing an enemy.
- Skill: Ashveil marks one target as bait and deals massive Lightning DMG to it. If the target is already marked as bait, they take additional DMG, and he recovers 1 Skill point.
- Ultimate: Asheil deals massive damage to one enemy and marks them as bait. He then launches a Follow-up ATK without consuming his Charges on the Bait. He also consumes Gluttony, with every 4 stacks consumed increasing his DMG output further. Giving an enemy a killing blow during his Ultimate, he will continue to consume Gluttony stacks and deal damage to the new bait. The enhanced follow-up attack ends when all enemies on the field have received a killing blow.
- Bonus Ability: Massively increases Follow-up attack damage and Crit DMG for all allies. Ashveil also generates additional energy for every follow-up attack he launches.
