- If you have Grass Pokemon, they are extremely effective against Ground, Rock, and Water-type Pokemon.
- Similarly, they perform worse against Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice type Pokemon.
- However, they resist Grass, Water, Electric, and Ground type Pokemon.
If you’ve read enough of our element guides, you know that Grass is just one of the 18 Pokemon types in the series’ universe. However, it is arguably one of the most popular types, too. But, like any Pokemon, Grass Pokemon have their advantages and disadvantages. If you’re just getting started with Pokemon and happen to have a grass type in your team, you should know what you’re getting into. So keep reading as I tell you the weakness, strength, and resistance of grass Pokemon.
Grass Pokemon Strengths
Let’s be honest: who doesn’t like taking Bulbasaur as their starter Pokemon, right? However, between you and victory lie all kinds of Pokemon, so you should know your Pal’s strengths.
As such, Grass Pokemon are super effective against Ground, Rock, and Water types. So even if your Bulbasaur is fighting a strong Diglet, it will be highly effective as grass defeats ground in-game.
Furthermore, if it is a dual-type Pokemon with a combination of any of the elements above, your Pokemon will deal more damage. Hence, your Bulbasaur will fare extremely well against a ground rock-type Geodude.
On the flip side, the attacks won’t be very effective if your Pokemon is fighting against a Fire, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon, and Steel-type Pokemon. Always try to use your Grass ones on the monsters with a combination of Ground, Rock, and Water.
Grass Pokemon Weakness
Besides their popularity and strengths, even Grass Pokemon have weaknesses. In this case, grass Pokemon are weak against Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice type Pokemon. If you send your Bulbasaur to fight against a Koffin, it will perform badly.
It will probably take more damage compared to the Koffin. Hence, when you see a Pokemon with any of the mentioned element attacks, you should always switch your Pokemon and call in one that is effective.
Grass Pokemon Resistance
Resistance in Pokemon refers to the attack type from which your Pokemon can protect itself. So, if your Pokemon is, let’s say, resistant to Electricity, any Pokemon dealing electric damage will be ineffective.
Grass Pokemon are extremely resistant to Water, Electric, and Ground-type Pokemon. Hence, if you are fighting a Pokemon with any of these elements, they’d take lesser damage against them.
That’s everything you should know about Grass-type Pokemon in Pokemon. Remember, regardless of whether you play Pokemon or Pokemon GO, all of these properties are similar. Hence, you don’t have to micromanage anything.
