Raiden Shogun is THE best Electro character in Genshin Impact, and rightfully so, she is the Electro Archon after all! The Narukami Ogosho will be showing up soon on the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.3 banners and you might want to start farming materials for her. For those unaware, Raiden Shogun is a sub-DPS, support character that can deal massive damage, buff your party members, and take care of their energy needs. In this guide, let’s look at the best build, weapons, artifacts, and more for Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact.
Best Raiden Shogun Builds in Genshin Impact
The best build for Raiden Shogun is the Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set paired with her signature weapon, Engulfing Lightning. Both increase Raiden Shogun’s Energy Recharge, which is an essential stat in her kit. More than her signature weapon, it’s essential to run the Emblem set as a 2-piece grants her 20% Energy Recharge and a 4-piece set increases her Burst Damage by 25% of Energy Recharge.
Engulfing Lightning is the best-in-slot weapon for Raiden Shogun for two reasons — it has an Energy Recharge sub-stat of 55.1% (max) which is important for Raiden Shogun and its passive increases Attack by 28% of Energy Recharge over the base 100%. This way, Raiden Shogun can gain a maximum bonus attack of 80%. Besides, Engulfing Lightning also gives the user a 30% Energy Recharge for 12 seconds after using an Elemental Burst.
As for other options, well, there aren’t. Emblem of Severed Fate is the best there is for Raiden but if you lack the same, you may try 2-Piece Emblem and 2-Piece Thundering Fury, but that’s about it. Here are all the options you can try:
- 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate (THE best artifact set for Raiden Shogun)
- 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate + 2-piece Thundering Fury (If you lack good Emblem artifacts)
- 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate + 2-piece Nobless Oblige
- 2-piece Nobless Oblige + 2-piece Thundering Fury (Just quit being lazy and farm for Emblem at this point)
Raiden Shogun Main and Sub-Stats Priority
It’s important to have good Crit sub-stats on both the Flower and Feather besides Attack percentage and Energy Recharge, but when it comes to the main stats, it’s complicated. The stats you should have on the Sands and Goblet depend on the team or more importantly, the weapon you’re running.
If you are running her signature weapon and if the Energy Recharge is already above 230, there’s no doubt you should have Attack Sands and Electro Damage bonus Goblet. However, if you’re running a free-to-play weapon like The Catch, you should have Attack Sands and Goblet.
If you’re running Vortex Vanquisher or any other ATK% weapon and have less than 200 Energy Recharge, it’s important to have an Energy Recharge Sands instead of Attack. Similarly, if you’re running Energy Recharge Sands on Raiden Shogun, make sure to have an Attack Percentage Goblet on her.
Hence the right priority would be Energy Recharge ≡ Attack% ≡ Electro Damage% > Crit Rate ≡ Crit Damage.
Artifact Main / Sub-Stat Flower Flat HP: Energy Recharge, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, ATK% Feather Flat ATK : Energy Recharge, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, ATK% Sands Energy Recharge ≡ ATK% (Depending on the Weapon) > Crit Rate ≡ Crit Damage Goblet Electro Damage Bonus ≡ ATK% (Depending on the weapon) > Crit Damage ≡ Crit Rate > ER% Circlet Crit Damage ≡ Crit Rate / ATK% > ER%
For every 1% of Energy Recharge above 100%, Raiden Shogun’s Passive grants her a 0.6% greater Energy Restoration and 0.4% Electro Damage bonus. This may trick players into thinking that stacking up as much ER on Raiden is the way to go. However, stacking ER% gives diminishing returns at one point. Hence, you should also focus on building her Attack to maximize her potential as a sub-DPS. 200-260 Energy Recharge is generally enough.
Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Talents
Raiden Shogun’s kit revolves around continuously inflicting Electro Damage, increasing the Elemental Burst Damage of party members. When the party members use their bursts, Raiden gains resolve stacks and the same increases her burst damage, and throughout the skill, helps restore energy to all party members.
Normal Attack: Origin – Raiden Shogun performs five consequent attacks that do physical damage, charged, and Plunging attacks by consuming stamina which also do physical damage.
Elemental Skill: Baleful Omen – Raiden Shogun slashes dealing Electro Damage, gaining the “Eye of Stormy Judgement.” The Eye of Stormy Judgement deals coordinated Electro attacks every 0.9 seconds (as the character is attacking), and characters with the same will have their Elemental Burst damage increased based on the Energy Cost of the burst.
Elemental Burst: Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu – Raiden Shogun unleashes a gigantic Electro slash using Musou No Hitotachi which deals large AoE damage followed by the Electro-imbued damage. The damage done by the same is directly proportional to the number of Resolve Stacks consumed when it’s used.
Raiden Shogun Passives
Wishes Unnumbered – When nearby party members gain Elemental Orbs or Particles, Chakra Desiderata gains 2 Resolve stacks. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.
