Frieren is set in a Tolkien-esque fantasy land. Thus, humans coexist with other races, including elves, dwarves, demons, etc. And our MC, Frieren, is confirmed to be a female elf in the story since the beginning of the series.
Like the majority of the elves in fantasy works, the elves are blessed with prolonged lifespan, making them nearly immortal in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Since Frieren originates from the elves’ race, she has been able to exist for a millennium and continues to live healthily to this day.
