Best Tips to Win a Rivalry in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2

Winning a rivalry in Fortnite is not just about out-aiming your opponent. You need to utilize multiple new Season 2 mechanics to gain a tactical edge. Here are some of the tips you can use to win Rivalries in Chapter 7 Season 2:
- Secure high-ground: Much like any other battle in Fortnite, high-ground is key if you want to win against your Rival. Use items like the Fortnite Skyline Deployer to gain a tactical advantage right off the bat. This can also allow you to rain down fire on your Rival from angles they might not check.
- Focus on the Red Zone Radar: Do not run directly into the center of the red circle. Instead, skirt the edges of the zone. Most players focus their attention on the middle. However, flanking the perimeter allows you to spot your Rivals first and land the opening shot.
- Use the Reboot Double-Credit trick: Eliminating a Rival who previously took you down can award double Rival Credits. So, if you are playing duos or squads, you can coordinate reboots for a high-risk, high-reward strategy to farm Rival Credits.
It is also important to remember that Make sure to try and preserve the element of surprise when engaging in a Rivalry. While the game notifies both Rivals of the enemy’s exact position for a short while, you need to make sure that your enemy does not see you coming.
How to Secure a Rivalry Contract in Fortnite

You can secure Rivalry Contracts in Fortnite by looting a Rival that was not eliminated by you. If you are engaged in a Rivalry and your Rival gets eliminated by another player or environmental hazards like fall damage, they will drop a physical item called a Rivalry Contract. Here are the steps you can follow to secure a Rivalry Contract:
- When a Rival is eliminated, look for the Rivalry Contract icon pictured in the image above.
- Rush to the icon.
- Locate the Rivalry Contract, which looks like a treasure map and has a crossed sword icon floating above it.
- Interact with the Contract and secure it to receive the credit for the Rivalry and contribute to the global Fortnite Showdown event.
