Fortnite Gem Sprites Release Date: When Does the New Sprite Variant Come Out?

Epic Games is set to expand the Fortnite Sprite collection even more soon, with the Fortnite Gem Sprites release date being right around the corner. If you are wondering when you will get to see these unique Gem companions in Fortnite, here’s everything you need to know.

Fortnite Gem Sprites Release Date and Time

According to the new roadmap of the upcoming Fortnite Sprite Events, the Fortnite Gem Sprites release date is confirmed for August 6, 2026, at 9 AM ET. This will be part of Epic’s New Sprite Day event, which will also boost the spawn rate for the Gem Sprites for a short period of time.

Epic does this so players have a better chance at ticking off these special Sprite variants from the Fortnite Sprite Checklist. That said, here is a countdown timer for the release of Gem Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3:

There are set to be a total of 9 Gem Sprites for players to collect in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. While Epic already added the Gem variant of the Llama Sprite as part of the Fortnite 41.30 update, the other 8 Gem Sprites will be added as part of the New Sprite Day event.

Once they are released, players should be able to find Gem Sprites in Sprite Chests around the Chapter 7 Season 3 map. However, if you do have a hard time finding them, you can always engage in trading Sprites with your friends.

What Do Gem Sprites Do in Fortnite?

All Gem Sprites in Fortnite will grant players 30% less fall damage during matches. This buff stacks with the base Sprite Variant buffs for players. For instance, variants like the Gem Demon Sprite will allow players to siphon health and shield from eliminations while also partially protecting players from fall damage.

This buff does not seem that useful, especially with the Air Sprite already being in the game. However, players could still benefit from the Gem Sprites during intense build battles that reach way high into the sky.
