What are Campfires in Fortnite?

Campfires were introduced in Chapter 1 Season 2 as a trap item. Once placed, it would heal the player and the vehicle within a set radius. Cozy Campfires rotate in and out of the Fortnite loot pool, but for the most part, they are now featured on the island as Environmental Items.

You can interact with them to boost your Sprite’s XP gain during Fortnite Sprite Events. Depending on the mode you’re playing (Zero Build or the regular Battle Royale), Campfires function differently. In Zero Build, once the flames start to dwindle, it’s time to move on to one of the many other Fortnite Campfire Locations. Whereas in Battle Royale, you can use Wood to stoke the flames.

You can also heal yourself with Campfires, with 1 tick of healing all the way up to 100 in Zero Build and up to 4 ticks of healing in Build Mode when you stoke it with mats. Just be careful not to linger for too long, especially if you’re carrying one of the rarest Sprites in Fortnite. Enemies will be able to spot the flames and could attack you without warning.
